PRINCIPAL HUBBIRD’S FEBRUARY 2020 MESSAGE ATTENDANCE MATTERS! We need your child in school each and every day to maximize their learning! Did you know: ● Missing too many days of school can make it difficult for youth to stay on track in classes and maintain momentum for graduation from high school; ● High absences is a powerful predictor of the students who may eventually drop out of school; ● High absences can lead to poor educational and life outcomes for children. Lincoln students will receive their 2nd quarter Report Cards at the Parent/Teacher Conferences. Don’t miss the opportunity to access student assignments and grades for the next quarter. Your Access ID and Password are listed on your child’s Report Card. Log on to Lincoln’s website at www.L156.org then click on “Parents” then click on “PowerSchool”. Click on “Create Account” and follow the directions. You will then have access to assignments and grades for all of your Lincoln students. This is a wonderful way to keep informed of your child’s progress. Of course, you’re also encouraged to contact your child’s teacher. There is a telephone in every room so you can leave a message if the teacher does not answer. You can also EMail any teacher. The E-Mail addresses are on the first page when you login on PowerSchool. A reminder to 8th Grade Parents: ● The 8th Grade Fee for the Promotion Ceremony is due on March 6. ● The Fee for the trip to Springfield, IL and St. Louis, MO is due on April 9th. ● There will be no exceptions. In honor of Black History Month, we will have our students perform a play centering on the historic case of Brown V. The Board of Education of Topeka. The date of the performance is Feb. 20th at 6pm. Parents! We NEED You! Sign up to attend the SCSDD Parent Conference on March 25th in the main office. The IAR assessment is designed to give schools and teachers more information to support improvement and differentiation in instruction. It is understood that no test can ever fully capture the skills and abilities of a great scholar, a teacher or the extraordinary benefits and positive impact of a great school. We will begin our IAR testing for 3rd - 8th graders the week of March 30th. With your continued support Lincoln scholars will make progress along the continuum of mastery.
