www.drc2021.com It’s Here The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) will host the first-ever DRC Energy & Infrastructure Investment Summit 2021, taking place 21-22 September 2021 in Kinshasa, DRC. Organized by Africa Oil & Power in partnership with the African Energy Chamber, the summit highlights a new dawn for one of Africa’s most diverse energy and mining plays. While the country remains Africa’s 12th largest oil producer with an output of about 25 000 barrels per day, the DRC’s oil and gas potential is tremendous, with some estimates placing its global potential reserves at anywhere from 5 billion to as much as 20 billion barrels. This, if confirmed, would make the Central African nation the continent’s second biggest reserve-holder, behind only Nigeria. Today, the DRC only produces oil from a few offshore wells and has seen very little exploration activity in recent years. Its onshore plays remain vastly unexplored while 24 out of its 26 regions are expected to have active petroleum systems. The DRC Energy & Infrastructure Investment Summit 2021 will be the leading platform to showcase the DRC’s oil promise and all the opportunities present in gas monetization, infrastructural development and power generation. The event will be the ideal platform to discuss and understand opportunities for synergies between the oil and mining sectors, promote strategic partnerships for cross-border asset development and further explore opportunities for foreign investment, bringing interested partners from American, European and Asian markets to one of Africa’s most promising oil regions today. 21 - 2 2 S e p t e m b e r 2 0 21 , K i n s h a s a

MASSIVE HYDROCARBONS POTENTIAL With estimated potential reserves anywhere between 5 and 20 billion bar- rels and a largely unexplored landscape, the DRC represents one of the last high-confirmed potential frontier plays in Central Africa and a tremendous op- portunity for the right investor. AN IMPROVING BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT As the government seeks to use the country’s energy and mineral resources to promote economic growth, it has been striving to improve the country’s business environment and make it more attractive to foreign investors. POWER GENERATION EXPANSION With strong political will to increase access to electricity across the country, investment opportunities in power generation infrastructure abound, particu- larly for solutions that help monetize the country’s natural gas resources. LOCAL CONTENT IN FOCUS To fully take advantage of the major economic opportunities the development of its energy sector can offer, the DRC must invest in training and capacity building to ensure that its population is an integral part of this economic revolution. 21 - 2 2 S e p t e m b e r 2 0 21 , K i n s h a s a
