PASTOR’S COLUMN:
Let us hope this new year turns out a lot better than the last one. Even so, we have all learned
quite a bit about ourselves and our Faith. In a time of pandemic, although we are a
sacramental people we can still celebrate as a faith community in person and “on line”. If
absence makes the heart grow founder, for many, the inability to receive a sacrament, be it
confession or communion, increases our appreciation of these and our eucharistic celebrations
of the Mass. One day, this too will pass. Till then let us use the electronic gifts we have and
stay connected and close to our faith traditions as possible.

Eternal Father,

Today we celebrate the baptism of Jesus.
After living with his mother for thirty years and
working as an ordinary carpenter, it was time for
Jesus to start His special work.
What was Jesus’ special work?
It was showing people the way to God
and taking away their sins.
