02 MAY 2021 FIFTH SUNDAY OF EASTER A Letter from our Pastor Dear Friends, Our second grade PREP students and school children will be receiving their first Holy Communion this coming Saturday, May 8th, and our seventh grade PREP students and school children will be receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation at the hands of Bishop John McIntyre, Auxiliary Bishop of Philadelphia, this coming Tuesday, May 4th. As a community of faith, we rejoice in the great gift of grace that will be given by God to our young people in these important sacramental celebrations. I ask you in a special way to remember our second and seventh graders in these days leading up to the celebration of these Sacra- ments of Initiation, that they will open their hearts to the grace that God will so generously bestow on them sacramentally and that, through this great gift, they will not only change their lives but change the world. We will once again be participating in the archdiocesan Manna food drive. The brown Manna bags will be available for pick up in church on the weekend of May 8-9. We ask every family/household to take a bag and fill it with non-perishable food items for the benefit of our sisters and brothers who are most in need. We ask you to return your filled bag to church the following weekend, May 15-16. Most of the food collected will be brought to the food pantry at Mother of Mercy House in Kensington. Thank you in ad- vance for your generosity. I once again respectfully remind you to please consider your gift to the 2021 Catholic Charities Ap- peal, if you have not already given your gift. My goal as your pastor is for every household and/or every wage earner in the parish to make a sacrificial gift to this year’s Appeal. Every gift to the Appeal --- no matter how large or small --- goes a long way in assisting the Archdiocese in carrying out the corporal works of mercy, especially among those most in need. If you didn’t receive a Catholic Charities envelope directly from the Catholic Charities office, envelopes are available at the doors of the church. Your dona- tion may be placed in this envelope and mailed directly to the diocesan office. I would prefer that you NOT put them in the collection basket, but mail them directly to the office yourself. I thank you in advance from the bottom of my heart for your generosity to the 2021 Appeal, which really funds the most important work we do as a Church in this great Archdiocese. I remind you again that our 90th anniversary book is completed and is available at the rectory. There are a limited number of books available. We are asking for a donation of $25 per book. Books may be purchased at the rectory on any weekday between 9 AM and 2 PM. More information and an order form may be found elsewhere in this bulletin. Know that you and those you love are daily remembered in my Mass and my prayers. Love and prayers, Father Olivere PAGE 3 - 116 ST. TIMOTHY NO MATTER WHO YOU ARE, YOU BELONG HERE WWW.ST-TIMS.ORG
