The Shamrock August 20, 2021 Dear Families, Happy Friday! It is our official end to the first week of school and I would like to thank you all for your support and help over these past few days. We are working out the kinks as we transition back to some of our Pre-Covid traditions and appreciate the patience that all students are giving us as we put our campus back together again. It will get easier! We hopefully will take the lessons learned from the experience last year and use them to propel us forward to provide an even richer academic and spiritual program for our children. It was great to see many of you at our Parent Meet and Greet yesterday. I felt so happy having a chance to meet with new families and reconnect with long time families after our COVID hiatus. As I shared yesterday, we continue to receive guidance from the state and county in regard to our sports programs, requirements of employees and volunteers being on school grounds. The Diocese of Monterey continues to unpack these requirements and I will keep you updated as new or amended plans arise. Next week teachers will host their Back to School Nights virtually. Teachers will send out information to you ahead of the scheduled Zoom so that you have a chance to have your questions clarified at the meeting. The beginning of the year is always filled with new routines, procedures, etc. This is especially true this year as we navigate reintroducing St. Pat’s traditions, so in the spirit of mercy we will need to give one another some grace during these first couple of weeks to get systems under our belts. We are all on the same team and have the same goal – a positive, engaging learning experience for our students. Please see the Shamrock for the days and times for all Back to School Night presentations as we have amended some of the times each evening. The teachers are excited to share their plans with you! Items of the Moment: • Office hours are be M-F 7:30AM-3:30PM. Face coverings will be required for your visit to the office and any other indoor area of campus. • Homework Club starts next week for students in grades 2-8. If your child is not attending Homework Club or Extended Care, please pick up immediately after dismissal at 3PM. Students attending homework club will remain in classrooms with the teacher until 3:30PM or until a parent retrieves his/her child from the classroom. • The Thrift Store is open and taking donations. Call ahead to schedule a time for drop off. • A new family virtual meeting has been scheduled. Please check the pages below for the day/time. A Zoom link will be provided to you the day before the meeting. Blessings to you all on this first week and have a restful weekend! Best, Maureen Halderman
