to the Quad during lunch to participate in games and get free candy!
Our first Back to School event is here! The class of 2023 is hosting a Carnival on September 3rd
from 5-8 pm! There will be games, inflatables, a photobooth, face painting, food, and more!
There will even be a dunk tank with surprise teacher guests! Purchase your tickets in the Student
Store or Webstore until September 1st for $10 with an ASB card, $15 without. Tickets will be
$15 at the door. Each entry ticket comes with tickets to use at the carnival. See you there!
The first blood drive of the year is September 24th! You can sign up with any ASB member or
on the ASB room door starting TODAY until the 15th! When you donate, you get a free movie
ticket. You must be 16 years or older to donate. Be sure to sign up and save a life!
ASB Cards are now on sale in the Student Store and Webstore. For just $40, you can get over

Back to School Night will take place in the “live virtual” format on Thursday,
September 9, beginning with 0 period at 6:45pm.
This year, all schools have shortened days the day following Back to School
Night. Therefore, we will be on an early release schedule on Friday, September
10.

Here is the schedule (by English teacher last name) for student photos on
Monday and Tuesday, August 30 and 31.
Student photos will be used for ID cards and yearbook (excluding senior photos
in the yearbook).
If you wish to make any photo purchases, please fill out the online form below
prior to your student's scheduled photo day.
This should help you and your student know which day to be looking their
absolute best!

picture in the yearbook or to get your school ID. Everyone will get their photo

GMJB: Faculty, students and parents, if you want any announcements in GMJB, you need to tell your faculty advisors by Tuesday. Only faculty are allowed to put anything in GMJB and our script for the following week typically gets locked on Wednesday’s around 8:00 A.M. We do all of our filming starting on Wednesday afternoon. If you have any videos or pictures you want added, there can be zero copyrighted material and we need talent release forms for all people in the items. Thanks for respecting our deadlines and rules. Library: Your school library is preparing to open and welcome students in to find books, read, study and work on schoolwork. Library hours are 7:30 - 4pm each school day. From time to time, the library is closed due to teacher reservation or other events so watch the bulletin board outside the library where library hours for the week will be posted each Monday morning. Please always wear your mask inside the library and follow sign in procedures once you are seated at your table. All students coming to the library during a class period must have an official Library Pass from their teacher and check in with staff. In the meantime, watch for the Open/Closed sign on the front door so you know when to come on in! All Girls who are interested in trying out for the Girls Basketball Team are welcome to attend a tryout on Tuesday, August 31st at 3:30pm in the small gym. Please contact Coach Oganyan by email at victoriaoganyan@burbankusd.org or stop by her classroom in Building 1, Room 1146. This message is for all art students that have taken art class with Ms. Williams in the previous two years. You can pick up your art portfolios and any artwork you may have left behind in room 1149. Please make sure you pick it up this semester as she will be sorrowfully having to throw anything left behind to make room for storage for new student artwork. If you had a sibling that was in Ms. Williams' art class and they have graduated, you may pick up their artwork for them. Please don't wait for the last minute. Thank you wonderful artists. The Senior Sweatshirt Design Contest is underway, and we can’t wait to see how creative our seniors are! Designs should be school appropriate and represent JBHS, the Class of 2022, and possibly our new Bears mascot! Keep in mind that the color of the sweatshirt will be red, black, white, or gray. All designs must be turned in by THIS FRIDAY, September 3 @ 3 P.M. to the ASB box in the main office. Make sure your name and your fourth period teacher is on the back of your design before you turn it in. If you win the contest, you will receive a free Senior Sweatshirt! Want to know all about the clubs on campus? CLUB RUSH IS THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 2ND AND FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 3RD in the quad during lunch! Get involved and join some clubs!
