                                 “Happy St. Patrick’s Day”
This week we are excited to announce the opening of
our new entrant classroom Kapowai! Miss Sylva is
excited to welcome her new learners Katy C and
Fitimoka P and their whanau to her classroom. We are
so looking forward to getting to know you all and to have you join our place of
learning!

What a fantastic start to camp the Intermediate
learners have had! I had the privilege of
attending the first day of camp and had a great
time exploring the beautiful Hunua Ranges
alongside them as we completed the Hunua
Hunt. Since then, they have been busy
challenging themselves as they participate in a
range of fun and exciting activities and I’m sure
they are looking forward to sharing their
adventures with us upon their return.
CELEBRATING LEARNING & ACHIEVEMENT - Karaka School
Congratulations to all those who participated in the middle team swimming
sports! There was a range of fun events and lots of house points up for grabs. It
was fabulous to see the support that the learners gave one another as they
took turns to participate. Thanks Middle Team teachers for your organisation!

Good News Call of the Week
Congratulations to Saumya S, our Good News Call of
the Week! Saumya was a terrific addition to our
onsite bubble during the last lockdown. He showed
our values of adaptability (urutau) and nurture
(poipoi) through his helpfulness and care of other
learners. He even went out of his way to help one of
our younger learners to play hockey! The bubble
teachers were really impressed with the way in
which he got on with his learning and how he had such fun when interacting
with others. Saumya, thank you for being a great role model of our school
values - we are so proud of you!

Colour Run Update—Friday 16th April—What a great way to end Term 1
Thank you to all those students who have made a wonderful start to their
fundraising! So far 38% of the students have registered and 28% have
fundraised at least $1 so far. Lets see if we can make that 60%. We have 2
and a half weeks to go so lets make them count!
WELL DONE to KOTARE ROOM who are leading the fundraising efforts at this
stage - the winning class will get a special movie afternoon reward, and house
tokens are up for grabs for all students who create a profile! Don’t forget by
registering online and fundraising just $1 you get to go into the draw for your
family to win a prize worth $20,000. – See below details.
The easiest way to help your child raise money is through online fundraising.
Go to schoolfunrun.co.nz and create a student profile page. You can then
share your online fundraising link via SMS, Email and Social Media.
If you need a new fundraising booklet, or didn’t receive one, you can pick one
up from the office or email angefrench@gmail.com to receive a
digital copy.

Any questions/fundraising ideas or if you require uniform items urgently, you
can email us on karaka.pta@gmail.com. The Karaka School PTA account is
