Factors to Consider
Zane State College College Credit Plus Campus (CCPC) Orientation
CCP General Guidelines
u Each public school student is awarded 30 credits per academic year
u A CCP academic year is summer, fall, and spring semesters/terms
u Any classes taken at the high school or at another college count
         toward those 30 credits
u Two Options for CCP enrollment: Option A/self-pay & Option B/state-
pay (Option B is the default option for CCP students)

         ance%20Options%20A%20B%20effective%20May%2010%202021.pdf
u For CCPC students, high schools pay the cost of the course; ZSC pays the
    cost of textbooks/materials
u Students get textbooks/materials from the ZSC Campus Bookstore and
return them to the Bookstore when done at the end of each semester

ODHE Impact of Student Grades (attached
sheet with Advising & Risk Acknowledgement Form)

u Students who fail or withdraw from courses may be asked by
    their school districts/state for reimbursement
u Although certain courses are guaranteed to transfer to Ohio
public institutions (OTM and/or TAG), they may not be accepted
    at private and out-of-state institutions
u College courses are designed for mature audiences

u (For more information about the Advising and Risk Acknowledgement form, see
      u https://www.zanestate.edu/wp-content/uploads/Advising-and-Risk-
                              Acknowledgement.pdf )

ODHE Impact of Student Grades

Drop - Students have the first two weeks from the start of
term to drop a class for no academic or financial penalty.

Withdraw – Students have between week three and the end
of the tenth week to withdraw from a class (“W” on
transcript). Failure to complete withdrawal paperwork will
result in student receiving an “F” in the course). Also
remember that the school district/state can ask for

u Has earned lower than a cumulative 2.0 GPA in college courses OR
u Withdraws from two or more courses in the same term
u When on CCP probation, the student:
u May enroll in no more than one college course
u May not enroll in the college course in the same subject in which student
previously earned a D, F/FN, or received no credit
u Student remains on probation until student has improved cumulative GPA to

CCP Dismissal
u A student is placed on CCP Dismissal when the student has met the
definition of CCP Underperforming Student for two consecutive college
    terms

u Once a student is dismissed from CCP, the student may not enroll in
college courses for the following college term

u After one college term on dismissal, the student may request secondary

whether the student may continue on dismissal, move to probation, or
participate without restrictions per the school’s adopted policy. Policy
must be developed prior to the summer term

College Credit Plus –
   Parents’ Guide
Parents: How can you support your student
in making this transition to college?
• Ask your student questions. Don’t assume that no news is good news.
• Understand that learning & communication is the student’s responsibility!!! Your
student needs to be the one setting up appointments and advocating for
    him/herself.
• Expect your student to struggle. Challenges are part of learning.
• Help your student create and keep a schedule.
• Email/call Kim with concerns (if your student has filed a FERPA form with the
    college).
Should parents contact the
          instructor directly?
                            NO!
Communication about a student’s progress in college classes is
the responsibility of the student. Privacy laws limit the
amount of information a college representative can provide.

                      FERPA
for more information on FERPA, see form and video on CCP pages of
