THANK YOU to Mrs Caroline Morling for her work with our choir and to the choir members for their commitment. The National School Parent Opinion Survey has closed. Thank you to the 42 families who made the time to complete the survey and provide their feedback. The collected information will be shared with the School Board, staff and our school community. Our annual Volunteer Thank You Morning Tea will be held in the school Library commencing at 10:30am on Wednesday 25th November. We are looking forward to you joining staff for a chat and a cuppa. Nominations for Student Leadership positions in 2021 closed today. Twenty applications were received and it is fan- tastic that our Year 5 students have nominated themselves. The process to identify our 2021 Student Leadership Team will be completed by Week 9 of this term. Requests by parents for student placement in 2021 are required by Friday 27th November. Please take the time to read the ‘Class Placements 2021’ information letter which has been forwarded with this newsletter. As in previous years any request must be based on educational grounds. Please be assured that our teachers take many different aspects into consideration when placing all our students into classrooms for 2021, including students’ academic level, behav- iour, attitude, special needs issues and friendships. We will have a number of split year level classes again next year. Research has shown that children in split year level classes perform academically as well as their peers in ‘straight’ classes and their social skill development is en- hanced. Teachers in split year level classes cater for each year level, ensuring appropriate curriculum is covered and moderate student work samples against those of similar year levels. The Year 6 Graduation ceremony has been the hot topic of discussion over recent weeks due to COVID-19 re- strictions on numbers at the Town Hall. Therefore, the Graduation will be held at the Recreation Centre. Families of Year 6 students need to contact the school and indicate how many tickets they need for their family (parents, Year 6 child, siblings) and other guests, e.g. grandparents. Tickets are required to gain entry to the Recrea- tion Centre on the evening of the Graduation. Kind regards Judith Dadson
