Come and help us celebrate the achievements of our students this term. Bushfire Community Recovery and Resilience Fund Emmaville Central School has just been notified that we have been successful in our application for a grant from the Bushfire Community Recovery and Resilience Fund. This application was to support families pay for pool entry for school events. Attendance This term our overall school attendance has dropped to 79% which is 11% below Department of Education requirements. Parents are encouraged to ensure they send their children to school or to always call us to let us know why your child is not at school. Next term we will be conducting a lucky attendance draw for any students who have been at school for 10 out of 10 days each fortnight. Our first draw will occur Monday of Week 3 and will continue every 2 weeks after that. NAIDOC Week During the school holidays our nation will be celebrating NAIDOC week. As a school we will be holding NAIDOC Week in September when our local lands council will be holding its’ NAIDOC Celebrations and open day at The Willows. Cross Country A huge congratulations to Brittany for progressing to State for Cross Country. Have a safe and warm Winter vacation. Mrs Gillian Davis Principal SECONDARY NEWS As we approach the end of the term, I encourage parents to ensure their children are attending school every day (unless they are unwell). The Department of Education expects that students meet a threshold of 90% attendance. This means that if a student misses more than one day per fortnight, they will not meet the 90% benchmark. More importantly, having days off school makes it very difficult for students to have continuity in their learning- they miss essential content and can fall behind very easily.
SECONDARY NEWS CONTINUED Donut Success Thank you to everyone who supported the SRC Donut Fundraiser. We had orders for almost 600 donuts! Thank you to Mrs Key for her organisation of this event.
