There’s a reason that youth ministry looks Monday Labor Day - Parish Office CLOSED, NO Adoration in the Chapel

numbers. We need to be doing everything
we can to keep our parish youth involved
and invested. I believe it is time we began
calling our youth programming something
more youth-centric.
Our parish youth are not the Church of
tomorrow, they are the Church of today
and they are young - they are the “Young
Church’ of today’. Switching from calling it
“Youth Ministry” to “Young Church” is one
little way we can make our youth feel more
at home at our parish. The name “Young
Church’’ conveys to our younger parishio-
ners more of a sense of belonging. It con-
veys more of the truth that the youth of the
parish belong here, they are essential mem-
bers of the Church, this is their Church, and
they have just as much of a right to be here
as their parents and grandparents.
Let’s make sure our younger parishioners
feel welcome and at home now, so that they
want to stick around when they’re older.
