Advent Reconciliation Opportunities 10:30 AM-1 PM & 4 PM-6:30 PM | DECEMBER 20-22 Prepare your heart for Christmas by taking advantage of our additional Reconciliation times during the final week of Advent. One of our priests will be in the Day Chapel from 10:30 am-1 pm and from 4 pm-6:30 pm on December 20, 21, and 22. As always, you can also go to Reconciliation during the normal time on Saturdays from 3:30 pm-5 pm. Go to the "Confession" button in our parish app for a How-To Guide, Examination of Conscience, and Act of Contrition. Text "App" to 88202 to download. Sunday, December 19 We invite all parishioners and their families and friends to La Gran Posada on Sunday, December 19 starting immediately after the 5 pm Mass. There will be a reception in Henke Hall following the Posada with food and piñatas for the children. The Posadas (Spanish for inn, lodging, or shelter) are an Advent candlelight procession and celebration. In Mexico and some parts of Central America, Colombia, Venezuela, and Ecuador, it is traditional to hold Posadas during the nine days before Christmas. The Posadas are a reenactment of Mary Grace Counseling Open for Appointments and Joseph’s long, frustrating search for a place where Jesus could be born. The tradition re-enacts the story told in Luke 2:1-7—but with a twist: a happy ending with the “innkeeper” welcoming Mary and Joseph into the home. We learn from the Posadas that by welcoming the poor and the needy, we are welcoming Jesus into our midst. (See Matthew 25:40.) Catholic Charities opened a new counseling center, Grace Counseling, offering quality, holistic, affordable counseling for individuals, children, couples, and families. With specialties in relationship therapy, grief and loss, anxiety and stress management, and trauma-informed care, experienced therapists are focused on healing the mind, body, and spirit. Spanish-speaking therapists and teletherapy are available. Call 210.377.1133 for more information or to make an appointment. WWW.SFASAT.ORG 3
