From Monsignor Fran Cilia ___________________________________________ In a world in which leaders of nations seem to motivated solely by political concerns, the Church gives us, in the feast of Christ the King, the example of a “ruler” who suffers so that He may serve. In other years, the readings present the image of Christ as Shepherd. This feast was established in 1925 as an antidote to growing secularism and nationalism, which has only increased in the Parish intervening years. Mission Statement The “servant leader” and “shepherd king” models serve as examples for all leaders, whether in government, in the Church or in our Founded in 1777, homes. It is not to say that leaders do not exercise authority, but that as they do so, it is in the context of compassion, mercy and love. Saint Clare Parish is We end the liturgical year this week. Ven y no te demores. Trae a tu pueblo paz y bendición ahora y siempre.
