Diocesan Appeal Update
It’s been observed that people need a mission, a sense of purpose, in life. In fact, the sense of
emptiness so many experience today is a byproduct of not “being on mission.”
As Christians, we are always on mission. And we’ve been on mission ever since that first Pentecost. A
mission of love, to share the Good News with a world in need. What a powerful source of purpose and
meaning in our lives! To realize that we’re part of the same mission that inspired the likes of St.
Teresa of Calcutta, St. Francis of Assisi, St. Thomas Aquinas, all the saints throughout the ages,
reaching all the way back to that Upper Room where the Risen Lord appeared to the disciples and
first gave them the Holy Spirit.
That mission animates us today, and it’s the reason why we’re so intent on strengthening our parish
through the Annual Diocesan Appeal. As we rejoice in our reception of the Holy Spirit this Pentecost,
let us prayerfully consider how He might be prompting us to contribute to this mission, as important
now as it was 2000 years ago.

la sensación de vacío que muchos experimentan hoy en día es un subproducto de no "estar en misión".
Como cristianos, siempre estamos en misión. Y hemos estado en misión desde ese primer Pentecostés.
Una misión de amor, compartir la Buena Nueva con un mundo necesitado. ¡Qué poderosa fuente de
propósito y significado en nuestras vidas! Darnos cuenta de que somos parte de la misma misión que
inspiró a personas como Santa Teresa de Calcuta, San Francisco de Asís, Santo Tomás de Aquino,
todos los santos a lo largo de los siglos, llegando hasta ese Cenáculo donde el Señor Resucitado se
apareció a los discípulos y primero les dio el Espíritu Santo.
Esa misión nos anima hoy, y es la razón por la que estamos tan decididos a fortalecer nuestra parroquia
a través de la Campaña Diocesana Anual. Mientras nos regocijamos en la recepción del Espíritu Santo
en este Pentecostés, consideremos en oración cómo Él podría estar incitándonos a contribuir a esta
misión, tan importante ahora como lo fue hace 2000 años.
PARISH COOKBOOK
St. Luke’s fundraising team is looking to create a “St.
Luke Parish Cookbook” using recipes you provide. We
are looking for family recipes, not from the Internet or
other cookbooks as we don’t want to violate copyright
laws. The size will be 8.5x11 inch and will contain your
recipe(s) as well as pictures, if you have them. Before we can start, we need to know if you
are interested in providing one or more recipe. The book will be separated by appetizers,
soups, meats, desserts, salads, etc., and we will provide recipes in
English, Filipino, and Spanish, if received that way.

Religious Education Update
Classes have finished for the year.
Please join us on Pentecost Sunday when we will have a Sacraments Fair
after each Mass. You will bs able speak with a catechist knowledgeable
about the programs you are interested in, or just sign up with your name
and contact information and we will call you.
We will also have Faith Formation registration forms available for next
year’s classes. You can take that home with you and bring it back later.
We are excited to share God’s good news with you. I’m Ginny James the
coordinator of Religious Education, I look forward to speaking with
you on Pentecost Sunday or any time you have questions.
