PROJECTS IN LORIENT We are looking for 5 European Solidarity Corps volunteers to carry out projects in Lorient. Send application to sve@bij-lorient.org / Details about projects on the following pages High schools - 3 volunteers - Deadline to apply : 20 June 2021 Saint Louis high school 01/10/2021-30/06/2022 Notre Dame de la Paix high school 01/10/2021-30/06/2022 Saint Joseph high school & Saint Christophe primary school 01/10/2021-06/07/2022 Youth Organisations - 2 volunteers - Deadline to apply : 20 June 2021 Bureau Information Jeunesse de Lorient 01/10/2021-30/06/2022 Mission Locale 01/10/2021-30/06/2022 COMMON TO PROJECTS The volunteers will also have the opportunity to work together on projects in the youth information center. They will participate in various workshops/events in order to promote the European Solidarity Corps (Café Globe-Trotter, En route pour le monde Festival, Erasmus Days, etc..) Volunteers will have access to the online linguistic support and might participate in french lessons for the first three months. Each volunteer will have a local bus card and may have a bike.
PROJECTS IN LORIENT SAINT LOUIS HIGH SCHOOL 1 october 2021 / 30 june 2022 Saint-Louis High School is an educational institution taking 1060 high school students from 15 to 18 years of age. The volunteer will be integrated into the teaching teams and the school life service according to his (her) interest and the team’s needs (event, animation, project or kind of innovative idea). Volunteer may develop: - Activities -> organization of exhibitions, cultural and artistic visits, workshops on the issue of health, environment, culture, languages etc.. - Leading of workshops for foreign pupils of the school - Implementation of mutual assistance between high school students and students. - Assistance to students in difficulty according to their disciplinary skills. - Organisation of a cine-club and collective projects with the volunteer from La Paix High School NOTRE DAME DE LA PAIX HIGH SCHOOL 1 october 2021 / 30 june 2022 Notre Dame de la Paix High-School is an educational institution taking 650 students for 15 to 18 years old and situated in Lorient Agglomération. The volunteer will be integrated into the teaching teams and the school life service according to his (her) interest and the team’s needs (event, animation, project or kind of innovative idea). Volunteer may develop: - Activities -> organization of exhibitions, cultural and artistic visits, workshops and events on the issue of health, environement, culture, languages etc.. - Leading of workshop for foreign pupils of the school - Implementation of mutual assistance between high school students and students - Organisation of a cine-club and collective projects with the volunteer from St LouisHigh School SAINT JOSEPH AND SAINT CHRISTOPHE SCHOOLS 1 october 2021 / 6 july 2022 St Joseph High School is part of the first teaching network in the world, founded in the late 17th century, the Lasallian network. 1500 schools, 82 countries. In Lorient, the Collège-Lycée St Jospeh and primary school St Christophe is a Catholic teaching establishment. The project will take part in the high school and primary school. The volunteer will be integrated into the teaching teams and the school life service according to his (her) interest and the teams needs (event, animation, project or kind of innovative idea). Volunteer may develop : - Activities -> organization of cultural projects with the school documentalists - Follow-up of the mobility projects with the international coordinator for students - Promotion of the european volunteering and erasmus+ programs - Organisation of english & cultural workshops and activities for the primary school children - Participation in the cultural visits
PROJECTS IN LORIENT YOUTH INFORMATION CENTER - BIJ DE LORIENT 1 october 2021 / 30 june 2022 - Youth information and media The ESC will take place in the Youth Information Center of Lorient. The volunteer will participate in the various usual projects of the BIJ, but his/her mission will mostly concern the international sector. In line with his/her interest and motivations (s)he will : - Participate in the organization of events on the theme of international mobility - Use the social medias to communicate about activities of the YIC - Produce resources for the international sector -Produce video spots on the activities of the YIC -Participate in the promotion of the ESC, European citizenship and mobility -Provide support to youth willing to participate in the ESC program - Organise linguistic cafés "Happy talk" with a local volunteer LOCAL MISSION 1 october 2021 / 30 june 2022 - Youth mobility and inclusion ambassador The ESC will take place in the Local Mission of Lorient. Volunteer will work with the international mobility referent. The organisation aims to support young people aged 16-25 in their access to autonomy and employment. (s)he will participate in : -Contribution to the reception and information of young people who contact the Local Mission (in Lorient and in priority neighborhoods) and promotion of initiatives -Contribution to the organization and animation of events led by the Local Mission (Festival En route pour le monde, Summer Jobs Forum, Jobs Cafés) -Contribution to the animation of language workshops, in support of the approaches of young migrants -Animation of international mobility awareness workshops -Support for in preparation of mobility projects for local youth promotion of their experiences through articles, testimonies, exhibitions etc.. -Contribution to the actions of the Local Mission and to the animation of collective actions on the Youth Guarantee system (employment, integration, volunteering, international, etc. depending on the volunteer’s interests)
PROJECTS IN LORIENT ABOUT THE CITY - LORIENT Lorient is a city of 57 000 inhabitants, situated in the western part of France, in the Brittany region. This region has its own unofficial language called Breton. In general, people are really proud to come from this region, there is a strong cultural identity which creates a good atmosphere. Because Lorient is a city near the sea, the weather can change quickly and be rainy. However, you can appreciate it under every conditions.
