AFROSAI-E: AN INTRODUCTION AFROSAI-E IS A MEMBER-BASED INSTITUTION WITH THE 26 HEADS OF SUPREME AUDIT INSTITUTIONS (SAIs) FROM THE ENGLISH-SPEAKING AFRICAN COUNTRIES MAKING UP OUR GOVERNING BOARD We are committed through innovation, to cooperate with and support our member SAIs to enhance their institutional capacity to successfully fulfil their audit mandates. Ultimately, it is our vision to enable members to make a difference in the lives of citizens. The implementation of this vision is spearheaded by our Executive Secretariat, which is hosted by the Auditor-General of south Africa. The Secretariat activities are guided by the strategic goals and operational interventions, outlines in our Corporate Plan and further operationalised by the annual work plan. Members o the Governing Board meet annually to engage in strategic discussions and oversee the main activities o the organisation, implemented on its behalf by the Secretariat. Oversight is done through four subcommittees, each governed by a specific term of reference: ❑ Capacity Building ❑ Audit ❑ Finance ❑ Human Resources Each board member serves on one of these subcommittees and the outcomes and recommendations stemming from their deliberations are considered for endorsement by the full Board. 2/
International Training Programme (ITP) on “Production Sharing Agreements ” The 1st International Training Programme (ITP) by WGEI in collaboration with AFROSAI-E and the Norwegian national audit office on the Audit of Extractive Industries under the topic “PSAs” for audit personnel from INTOSAI member countries will be conducted from 3rd -7th February 2020 at the AFROSAI-E Training Centre based in Menlyn Maine, Pretoria, South Africa. The time frame and modalities for this 1st International Training Programme was worked out in consultation with the WGEI Secretariat, SAI Uganda and the Norwegian national audit office . Information on the International Training Programme on “PSAs” Language: The medium of instruction is English and workable fluency in English, both oral and written is an essential prerequisite for the programme Registration: All interested participants must register on the AFROSAI-E portal. Costing: The training is free of charge to participants, lunches and teas will be provided by AFROSAI-E. However, participants are to meet all travel and accommodation and other personal costs on their own. 4/
About the AFROSAI-E Training Centre AFROSAI-E is currently hosted in the Pegasus II Building on the 3rd Floor, Menlyn Maine Precinct. The office consists of a corporate secretariat area where all staff is situated and the training centre consisting of 3 venues namely; Baobab: The largest broad-trunked tropical tree of the silk- cotton family that is native to Africa and has an edible acidic fruit resembling a gourd and bark used in making paper, cloth and rope. Kilimanjaro: The highest mountain in Africa and the highest single free-standing mountain in the world, with it’s summit of 5,895 metres above sea level. River Nile: The Nile is a river in Africa. It is also the longest river on earth (about 6650 km As part of the training centre we also offer a canteen area that is used for serving tea//coffee as well as lunch. Our training centre is easy accessible, within walking distance from The Capital Hotel as well as the Menlyn Park Shopping Centre and Menlyn Maine Shopping Centre. Menlyn Park Shopping Centre is the largest shopping centre with over 500 stores over four shopping levels ranging from international brands to local brands, convenience stores and restaurants for everyone’s taste. 5/
