21st February 2021 1st Sunday of Lent First Sacraments Programme We are shortly to begin the planning of the First Sacraments Programme (Reconciliation and First Holy Communion) for 2021. You may remember that we could not celebrate the sacramental programme in 2020 because of the COVID-19 lockdown. We need people who are prepared to help with this programme. A meeting will be held in the St Mary’s Centre, Greenmeadows on Thursday 4 March at 4pm. If you are a teacher, a parent or a parishioner and would like to help, please contact Sister Helen at the Parish Office. We cannot offer the sacramental programme without this assistance. Welcome We warmly welcome the New Zealand Male Choir who will sing at the 10am Mass this morning. We are especially blessed that, despite the cancellation earlier this week of many Art Deco activities, the members of the choir have still come from around the country to sing this weekend. Congratulations We warmly congratulate Valda and Gavin Matthews who recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. We also congratulate Kath and Bernie Symonds who recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. We also congratulate Mervin and Hyacinth Castelino who celebrated their 25 th wedding anniversary yesterday. We thank God for the gift of marriage and thank Valda and Gavin, Kath and Bernie, and Hyacinth and Mervin for their commitment and faith in each other over many years. May they be truly blessed on these special marriage anniversaries. Baptism Preparation Course The next course will be held on Sunday 7 March at 11.30am in the St Mary’s Centre. Parents wishing to have their first child baptized are welcome to attend. Please advise the Parish Office if you wish to attend. Father Barry Scannell s.m. Parish Priest
