This week marks an exciting conclusion to the end of term 1. The events began on Sunday with a most successful Band Workshop Day. The purpose of such days is to give students the opportunity to participate in small group tutorials and Band rehearsals over the day culminating in a concert at the conclusion of the day. We were pleased to see so many parents, at the concert and thank you for the support you gave your children. Just to be there to applaud and appreciate their efforts is so important. Music is an integral part of their growth and development and to support them in this way is commendable. Special thanks to Gavin Hunter, the Band Committee and teachers—Mrs Cale, Mrs Butterworth and Miss STAFF CHANGES - Butterworth for their never ending support of the I regret to inform parents and caregivers that Mrs Flarey, a program. This is a temporary position for the remainder of 2021 and we may welcome Mrs Flarey back in 2022, but for the rest of this year I wish Mrs Flarey the best for her new adventure at another school. Mrs Flarey’s replacement teacher will be Mrs Candice Bortz, who has worked at Hornsby North in Term 1. Mrs Bortz is an experienced teacher and will continue the programs planned by Mrs Flarey and the Year 2 team under the guidance of Ms Lisa Duncan, Assistant Principal and Supervisor of Year 2 classes. Unfortunately, Mrs Louise Collett is unable to continue working on 1 Yellow for health reasons. Mrs Susan Tay will take over on Thursdays & Fridays for the remainder of the K-2 EASTER HAT PARADES - year.
