The Sweepstakes classes are open to all dogs and bitches at least 6 months of age and not over 18
months of age at the day of the show. Champions of record are eligible. Judging will be held before the
regular classes. Each entry in Sweepstakes must also be entered in a regular class at this show. Each
entry is to indicate Sweepstakes (state which class) on a regular entry form in the space for additional
classes. Entry fee is $15 in addition to regular entry fee.
Classes: (divided by sex) 6 & under 9 mos; 9 & under 12 mos; 12 & under 18months.
Veteran Sweepstakes: The Veteran Sweepstakes Classes are open to all dogs and bitches at least seven
years of age on the day of the show. Judging will be held before regular classes. Each entry is to
indicate Sweepstakes (state which class) on a regular entry form in the space for additional classes. Entry
fee is $15 in addition to regular entry fee.
4Each entry in Veteran Sweepstakes does not need to be entered in Regular Classes at this show.
Neutered dogs and Spayed bitches are allowed in Veteran Sweepstakes.

follows(rounded to the nearest whole dollar): 40% retained by the club for expenses, the remainder to be

The San Fernando Kennel Club will provide Ribbons for the following: First through fourth placements in

Requirements for the Non-Regular Class-Field Trial dog and Bitch-include; must have Dual
Championship, Field Championship, Amateur Field Championship, or have placed in an AKC Field Trial in
the past year.

5Grooming Area: A small grooming area will be reserved for the California Brittany Club on a first come first
serve basis.
Club General Membership Meeting: A luncheon in the redwood grove adjacent to the show building or at
the California Brittany club grooming area will be held after judging. The club will provide the main dish.
Club members are requested to bring a potluck side dish or desert to share.
The luncheon will be held in conjunction with a General Meeting of the California Brittany Club.
There will be an opportunity drawing at the meeting. All members are requested to bring a raffle ready
item to the luncheon. All members, guests and specialty participants are welcome to attend.
The California Brittany Club will support the entry on Monday offering trophies for Best of Breed, Best of
Winners, Best of Opposite Sex.
The Great Western Flat Coated Retriever Club, sponsored by the Flat Coated Retriever Society of
America will support the entry of Flat Coated Retrievers on Saturday. The Great Western Flat Coated
Retriever Club introduces the Karen Sack memorial trophy in honor of our beloved lifetime member, and
friend, Karen Sack of Alpha Retrievers. A former member of the Los Encinos Kennel Club, Karen was a
strong advocate for the GWFCR Club and its supporting of entries at the Mission Circuit dog shows.
Featuring the bronze artwork of Dannyquest Designs, the Karen Sack memorial trophy is mounted on a
solid walnut base, and will feature engraved plates with the names of the Best of Breed winners from the
Karen Sack tribute supported shows.
For permanent possession, the trophy must be won three times by the same owner, not necessarily with
the same dog/bitch, and not necessarily at consecutive shows. The trophy will remain in possession of
the GWFCR Club until an owner wins their third "Best of Breed" win which retires the trophy.
Prizes and rosettes will be offered for Best of Breed, Best of Winners, Best of Opposite Sex, Best of
Breed Owner Handler, Select, Winners, Reserve and Highest Scoring Flat Coated Retriever in
Obedience. Tote bag prizes for the Karen Sack memorial show will feature an embroidered Flat Coated
Retriever image.
Flat Coated Retriever Sweepstakes Judge: Mr. Loran Morgan
This sweepstakes is open to all Flat Coated Retrievers who are 6 months and under 18 months of age on
the day of the show.
CLASSES (divided by sex): 6 - 9 months, 9 - 12 months. 12 - 18 months
All entries in this sweepstakes must also be entered in a Regular class in this show. Entries shall be
made at the same time, on the same entry form used for the regular class. Indicate "Sweepstakes" and
the appropriate sex and age in the space provided for "Additional Classes."
Flat Coated Retriever Veteran Sweepstakes Judge: Mr. Loran Morgan
Veteran Sweepstakes are for Flat Coated Retrievers over 7 years of age on the day of show.
Veteran Classes (divided by sex): 7 - 9 years, 9 - 11 years, and 11 years and older.
Neutered dogs and spayed bitches are eligible for competition in Veterans Sweepstakes. Entries in
Veterans Sweepstakes NEED NOT be entered in a regular class. If entered as an additional class,
entries shall be made at the same time, and on the same entry form used for regular classes. Indicate
"Veterans Sweepstakes" and the appropriate sex and age in the space provided for "Additional Classes."
Cash prizes: Funds collected from the sweepstakes entries will be distributed as follows: First Place-
40%, Second Place-30%, Third Place-20%, and Fourth Place-10%.
Large plush toys are offered for Best in Sweepstakes, and Best Opposite Sex to Best in Sweepstakes
donated by the Great Western Flat Coated Retriever Club.
Large plush dog beds are offered for Best Veteran in Sweepstakes, and Best of Opposite Sex to Best in

The Cocker Spaniel Club of Orange County will support the entry Friday and offers Dog-related items for
Best of Variety, Best of Opposite Sex and Best of Winners.
The Orange County Cocker Spaniel Club will Support the entries on Saturday, Sunday and Monday and
offering dog related trophies for BOV, BOS and BOW for all 3 of the varieties

offers for both 13” Beagles and 15” Beagles European Style Slip Leashes, Leather embossed with the
Southern California Beagle Club Logo for Best of Variety, Best of Opposite Sex and Best of Winners.

CHALLENGE TROPHIES – The following Challenge Trophies are offered by the Standard Schnauzer
Club of Southern California for competition only at its Specialty. For permanent possession these trophies
must be won three times by the same owner, not necessarily with the same dog nor at consecutive shows.
Trophies remain in the possession of the Standard Schnauzer Club of Southern California unless
otherwise directed by the Board of Directors.
BEST OF BREED: “Setting the Standard” trophy is a cold cast bronze moving Standard Schnauzer on a
walnut base. Retired in 2004 by CH Pepper Tree Bel Air London, it was donated in 2005 by Margaret
Mohn (London’s Standards)
Richard Renshaw Challenge Trophy is a bronze Standard Schnauzer with puppies in a basket on a
wooden base.
BEST OPPOSITE SEX: “Beauty and Brains” is an original bronze Standard Schnauzer on a marble and
wood base donated in memory of Martha Carpenter, retired and re-donated by Earl & Arden Holst (Pepper
Tree Standard Schnauzers)
BEST OF WINNERS: KB’s Standard Schnauzers Challenge Trophy is a cold cast bronze Standard
Schnauzer head by Sue Stephenson on a wooden base donated by Karen & Gordon Benson.
WINNERS DOG: Stardust Standard Schnauzers Challenge Trophy is a cold cast bronze sculpted head on
a wooden plaque donated by Carol and Ed Karas.

The Standard Schnauzer Club of Southern California will support the entry on Friday, Sunday and Monday

The performance trophy scores will be taken from Friday’s trials and presented at the Banquet
PARADE OF TITLE HOLDERS AND PARADE OF VETERANS - Following Best of Breed, non-
competitive exhibition classes for dogs or bitches that are holders of either an AKC championship of
record title, obedience or rally title, other AKC performance title and/or working dog title as issued by the
Standard Schnauzer Club of Southern California; or are seven years of age on or before the day of the
show (with or without titles). Each entrant will receive a commemorative rosette.

The Border Terrier Club of Southern California Sweepstakes is open to all Border Terriers. All entries in
sweepstakes must also be entered in a regular class and the entry must be made as an additional entry
on the same entry blank with age and/or division specified.
Dogs shown in the Sweepstakes classes may not be shown by Professional Handlers, members of the
Professional Handler’s family or their employees unless such person is the owner and/or breeder of the
dog entered. “Professional Handler” includes anyone who has received remuneration for the handling of a
dog. Published Champions of Record are also ineligible.
Sweepstakes Classes: (divided by sex) 6 &under 9 mos., 9 & under 12 mos., 12 & under 18 mos
The club will retain 20% for expenses. 80% of remaining Sweepstakes fees will be divided:

The Border Terrier Club of Southern California Veteran Sweepstakes will be open to all Border Terriers 7
years of age and older. Champions of Record are eligible. Dogs entered in Veteran Sweepstakes are not
required to be entered in the Regular Classes. No spayed or neutered animals will be eligible for entry in
this competition. All entries for each dog must be made on an official entry form and be accompanied by
all fees. Veteran Sweepstakes must be indicated in the space for “additional Classes” on the official entry
form.

The BTCOSC offers theme or breed related motif trophies or pewter, silver, glass, wood, ceramic, plush,

The Pekingese Club of America and the Pacific Coast Pekingese will support the entry on Saturday,
Sunday and Monday and offer Breed Specific trophies for Best of Breed, Best of Winners and Best of
Opposite Sex.
The City of Angeles Pomeranian Club will support the entry on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday and
offers glassware for Best of Breed, Best of Winners and Best of Opposite Sex.
