WINTER 2021 COURSES Courses Course Description ENGL 100 Critical Reading and Writing I This course develops students’ proficiency in critical reading and writing through the study of a wide range of non-literary and literary texts, and the study of composition, with emphasis on connections between modes of reading and writing. ANTH 100 Introduction to Anthropology An introduction to the anthropological concept of culture, its uses in the explanation of human behavior, and its impact on our understanding of human nature, language and society. The course will explore cultural diversity through the comparative perspective that makes anthropology unique within the humanities and social sciences. ART 220 Two Dimensional Form Through hands-on studio projects, students will draw, paint, use print media, photography, and intermedia processes to develop a working understanding of two-dimensional design principles. KIN 170 Lifestyle, Health and Wellness Learn the factors which affect and individual's health will be examined and the potential role of lifestyle choices in the maintenance of health will be discussed. This course will enable the student to become an informed, responsible, active participant in one's own health. PSYC 101 Introductory Psychology: Social, Developmental, and Clinical Focus An introduction to the study of adjustment, disorders, development, personality and the social environment of the person.

HSXL APPLICATION Students must submit a completed Admission & Registration Form for Accelerated Students, along with: • Unofficial transcript from the high school or report card with a proof of English Proficiency Completion of: • Grade 9 & 10, or Grade 10 & 11 in sequence • 80% or better in a Grade 12 provincially- examined English course • Any approved test or proficiency in English • Parent signatures (for Winter 2021) Deadline Date: December 7, 2020

HSXL COST Amount Non-refundable Application $70* Fee Tuition $793.05** $100 - $150 Textbooks (estimate) *One time fee **Includes tuition fee and other fees APPLY ONLINE for ADMISSION TO THE UNIVERSITY OF REGINA BETWEEN OCTOBER 3 – 14, 2021 and ONLY PAY $50.00.
