Quinto Domingo de Cuaresma 21 de Marzo del 2021 Queridos hermanos y hermanas, Con este quinto domingo se abre la última etapa del itinerario cuaresmal. Seguimos acercándonos al sentido de la Semana Santa; a la Celebración Pascual que condensa la vida y la liturgia cristiana. Más aún, estamos en realidad ya tan próximos a ella, que en el evangelio de este domingo escuchamos de la boca de Jesús: “Ha llegado la hora de que sea glorificado el Hijo del Hombre.” Este evangelio nos hace llegar un pasaje solemne y grave que refleja todo el dramatismo de la situación vivida por Jesús a las puertas del misterio pascual. Jesucristo dice; “Yo les aseguro que si el grano de trigo, sembrado en la tierra, no muere, queda infecundo, pero si muere, producirá mucho fruto.” El sufrir por sufrir es absurdo e indigno del hombre; el sufrir porque “no hay de otra”. Este es motivo o explicación es muy pobre, aunque pueda ser frecuente. El sufrir por demostrar mi capacidad de sufrimiento o mi grandeza humana es de pocos, y casi siempre golpea al orgullo. Ya dice el dicho, ¡No hay mal que dure mil años ni cuerpo que lo aguante! Pero el morir o sufrir por fidelidad o por amor es muy diferente. Una madre que muere al dar a luz, un padre que trabaja día y noche para dar a su hijo el mejor cuidado médico cuando está en el hospital; eso es sufrir, morir por amor.
