Welcome Note from NXsports I am pleased to welcome you all to Round 3 of the Queensland Road Team Series hosted in the wonderful Gympie Region. After Round 1 in Moreton Bay and Round 2 in Warwick, we hope to once again bring an exciting brand of teams racing to Gympie and the surrounding Gympie Region communities. I would like to thank the Gympie Regional Council for their enthusiasm to welcome the Queensland Road Team Series for the first time in Gympie. Round 3 presents some serious hilly courses and we have chosen to take advantage of the varied terrain for the road race and team time trial. Don’t be fooled by the distances of the road race; those of you who raced last year remember that this course packs a punch. Following from Round 2’s Street Sprint, we are excited to bring Gympie’s CBD activation Veloclimb on Saturday night. A 600m climb finishing at the railway pub, this will be another exciting addition to the series. Open road cycling is only possible with the assistance and support of the Queensland Police Service. My thanks goes to the Queensland Police Service in Gympie and the Department of Transport and Main Roads for their input in the planning process and their role in keeping everyone safe throughout the weekend. Ride hard and keep safe, Michael Crawley 1 3

ROAD RACE Stage 1 – 25 September 2021 Gympie presents some very interesting and tough road race circuits. Those who raced last time will recall that this course presents some serious punches that will challenge the bunch. The road race starts at the rural Pie Creek Community Hall turning clockwise around the creek/residential circuit. The flats will allow sprinters and teams to attack from the front, before tuning right out to the Valley and Langshaw Hall which will certainly challenge the climbers. At the hall make a u-turn back across the numerous hills on the winding country roadway towards Gympie with two notable peaks. The course is designed as loop with a QOM/KOM each lap near Crust Road on the return to Gympie and a Sprint as you pass Pie Creek Hall heading to Langshaw. This is a narrow section of roadway with many blind corners and riders need to stay left. The program has staggered starts to minimize resources and present the local community with exciting racing. The Women QRTS will closely follow the Masters, then the QRTS Men will race into the afternoon. *All meetings take place at the start line. 9
