This New Parent Handbook and Constitution along with a copy of the By-Laws is for you to review and hopefully answer some of the questions that you may have. They contain a lot of information that is designed to answer any questions that you may have and to prepare you for what your gymnast will be involved in as a member of the competitive team. If you have any questions about any of this information please do not hesitate to contact any of the Club Board Members. We look forward to seeing you at each of our Booster Club meetings!
New Parent Handbook Welcome Leaps and Bounds Gymnastics Team Boosters Club (LBGTBC) would like to welcome you and your family to Leaps and Bounds Gymnastics Center. You are probably feeling the same mixture of emotions that the rest of the parents of the team gymnasts felt: pride, fear, excitement and confusion. We are here to help you. Being a member of the LBGTBC carries both responsibilities and benefits. We understand that joining the team and booster club can be an overwhelming time for parents and gymnasts, after all, we've all been there before too! The other members of LBGTBC are a great resource for many things. They know how the club works, and how competitions work, etc. Our booster club members are a friendly group and will be happy to help you figure things out. As a member of the LBGTBC, you are expected to actively support the competitive teams. This includes not only your financial obligations, but participation in club-sponsored meets and events as well. At least one adult family representative of your gymnast will be expected to help with planning and operation of these meets and events. On behalf of the Leaps and Bounds Gymnastics Team Booster Club we look forward to having you as part of our team!! Duties and Responsibilities of LBGTBC Members The booster club is a non-profit organization that exists “to foster and promote the art of gymnastics for girls and boys in amateur gymnastics competitions.” We serve as a direct link between the families and the coaching staff. We work to help all of the gymnasts succeed. There is an in-box in the gym office for the booster club. All
correspondence with the club officers can be left here and will be checked on a regular basis. Please feel free to call or email if the matter is urgent. The booster club raises funds to help offset the cost of meet entry fees, uniforms, and gymnasts' and coaches' travel costs. We raise money in many ways and new ideas are always welcome. Some of our fund-raisers include corporate sponsorships, bake sales, silent auctions, cash raffles and many others. Meetings are scheduled on a regular basis and will be posted at the gym, in the Parent Box, and text or emails sent out for convenience. Please try to attend all the meetings so that you can stay informed, share your ideas and have the opportunity to have your questions answered. If you have an important issue or item to discuss, please contact the Booster Club Secretary or drop us a note in the In-Box. If you have any questions about your booster club or would like to share your ideas, please contact one of the officers at any time. We look forward to working with you and appreciate all of your support. FEES Listed below are the booster club fees and other team related expenses for which you will be responsible. HOW TO READ A ROTATION SCHEDULE This is an example of the rotation sheet. The gymnasts are divided into four (4) squads to rotate between the four events. Under each squad/event there will be a complete list with the gymnast number, name, gym initials, and the total number of gymnasts competing under that squad. This is the event that they will start out on. If you notice, in Squad A, the first gymnast on the list has the word Vault next to her name. This means that she/he will be the first to start on vault, which is that squads first event. The same goes for Bars, Beam, and Floor. They will go straight down the list after completing the first event. The next word is Bars, which is the next event in the rotation. Followed by Beam then Floor which will complete the Squads cycle once all listed gymnasts finish all of the events.
