MOOLOOLABA BOWLS CLUB NEWS 30/01/2021 Presentation Night Bowls next week. At the end of season presentation night the major awards (1/2/2021) were taken out by Robert Blanco and Barbara Townsend, Monday 1pm—Open Pairs when they were awarded the Bowler of the Year for the Tuesday 8:30am—Open Pairs Men and the Ladies respectively. The Kevin Henicks award was presented by Anthony Henricks. Tuesday 1pm—Open Pairs Wednesday 1pm—Jackpot Open Triples Wednesday 6.30pm—Mufti Bowls Thursday 1pm—Club selected Triples. Thursday 6pm—Setsplay Pairs Friday 8:30am—Open Pairs Friday 3pm—Open Scroungers Saturday—Gr8’s Round One Sunday 2pm—Mufti Bowls CAPRICORN Day Member and Capricorn Elle Josephsen sponsored a Welcome back to Bowls afternoon on Saturday 16 January 2021. 84 bowlers contributed to a very successful and fun afternoon. The format was a The Ron Pattinson Clubperson of the Year award was St.Kilda 2B Triples with John Beresford and Keith presented by Ron to Faye Ford and Geoff Geary. Haeusler attending to the paperwork and directing The Henricks / Pritchard Encouragement award went to the players to their various positions be it lead, Rita Hedges and Errol Lange. The awards were presented by second or skip. Neil Henricks. A big thank you to Elle who mingled amongst the teams throughout the afternoon welcoming them with chocolates whilst taking photographs. Elle presented 16 prizes as follows:- Winning Skips: Rita Bliss, Aart Schouten, Les Bloxham; Seconds: Eric Skellern, Marty Dixson and Jenny Holt (tie); Leads: Andrew Neil, Craig Cohen and Bruce Mathew; Elle’s pick: Bridget McDermott, Ewen Sweeting and Rod Sawell; Elle’s Fun Bowler: Steve Phillips; and Consolations to Ron Morley, Bob Abraham and Harriet Hands. A great effort Elle – thank you and well done! Coaching is available on Saturday mornings at 9.00am Monday morning skills sessions. 10am from 8/2/21.
MOOLOOLABA BOWLS CLUB 30/01/2021 Club Champions 2020 Sunshine Coast Jack Attack Ladies Singles—Carol Azzopardi Kevin Hands, Ron Morley and Shane Haldane Ladies Pairs—Carol Azzopardi and Barb Townsend represented Mooloolaba at the Jack Attack final at Coolum Beach in December. Ladies Triples—Annette Lund, Pauline Boyd and Bev Robson The boys won their semi final against Glasshouse to advance to the final. Ladies Fours—Julie Bonell, Liz Pauli, Leona Johnston and Judy Murry The local Coolum team handled the condition better and jumped out fast in the first set. The second set Ladies B Grade Singles—Jacky Williams was nip and tuck with Coolum getting up on the last Ladies C Grade Single—Rita Hedges end. Ladies Consistency Singles—Barbara Townsend Well done to our boys who were quite happy when Ladies Veteran Singles—Barbara Townsend they pocketed $510 for second place. Mens Singles—Jay Globits Mens Pairs—Paul Henricks and Jay Globits Mens Triples—Geoff Allen, Paul Bonell and Rob Blanco Mens Fours—Geoff Alen, Mke Lynch, Paul Bonell and Rob Blanco Mens B Grade Singles—Charlie Gatward Mens C Grade Singles—Peter Dingle Mens Veteran Singles—Rob Blanco Mixed Pairs—Annette Lund and Rob Blanco Mixed Fours—Desley Williams, Kay Johnston, Andrew Neal (sub), John Thain and Dean Sluce Keep your eyes open for any future runnings of this fun event.
