PRESIDENTS MESSAGE Here we are again, all ready to go for the 2017 Indoor Bowls Season. Once again our financial situation is healthy and we have committed people in our Executive, Clubs and Selectors’ Panel. Last year went well and we need to build on that this year. We are delighted to congratulate Daniel French on his selection for the New Zealand Team versus Australia in Sydney in May. Our very Best Wishes go with you. Amongst the successes of 2016 three stand out and deserve our congratulations: - Jonty Horwell winning the National Junior Singles for the second time in three years. - Our Women’s Eight Team winning their tournament - Our Paterson Trophy Team’s regional win There are some encouraging signs on membership, but we have had a club close and we need to work actively to increase numbers and widen the scope of our activity. We all have a part to play in this through our personal contacts and communities. Your Executive continue to review our activities and we hope you will enjoy the enhanced lighting we now have. Our thanks to Brent Sinclair and his team for the repainting of the stadium. The Executive and I hope you will have an enjoyable season in your Club and Interclubs; and the very best of luck to our Representative Teams. David Moir President 4
