May 13, 2018 Page Nine ST. ISAAC JOGUES SCHOOL Weekly News Mrs. Carol Burlinski is pleased to share with our parish community a new program being implemented at St. Isaac Jogues School this semester. Teaching Together Chicago brings together the neighborhood Catholic School, young adults with disabilities and local social service agencies. The program helps young adults with disabilities be hired as interns, working in 10 week segments for up to 16 hours a week. The social service agencies will be responsible for job coaching and mentoring. What is so exciting is that the gifts and skills of young adults with disabilities will be recognized and utilized with our school. The social service agencies will share their expertise. St. Isaac Jogues School will become more inclusive and at the same time have additional resources. St. Isaac Jogues School is able to participate in the Teaching Together Chicago program thanks to the generous donation from a current school family. Ms. Heather Farrell currently helps our office staff, teachers, and students on Mondays and Wednesdays.
