Planning Your Party The best way to avoid a hangover is excellent party planning. To do so, you must plan what to drink, what time to drink, what to eat, when not to eat, what supplements to take and when to get into the ice bath. What to Drink 1. Drink the least toxic alcohols. I have ranked them in order of least toxic to most toxic: • vodka • gin • tequila • whiskey • champagne • dry white wine • red wine • desert wine • beer
2. You want to prevent the alcohol from converting to aldehyde. This is where you get methodical. You take one fast absorbing Vitamin C with each drink, along with one NAC capsule. For the quickest absorption, it is better to chew them or break open the capsule. It may be disgusting for a moment, but it will help prevent a hangover. 3. Before your drinking session, take Vitamin B-1 or a Vitamin B complex (I think the latter is better) and alpha lipoic acid. Both are great for detoxification. 4. Now that you got your detoxification system fired up, end the night with some activated charcoal. This can be taken at the end of the night unless you are drinking the most toxic alcohols—beer and wine. If these are your drinks of choice, it is better to take charcoal after each drink. The charcoal will mop up some of the remnants that your body couldn’t clean up. 5. To really get the detoxification system going, take the following superfoods at the end of the night and on into the next morning. • resveratrol • turmeric • chili powder
Turbo Charge the Protocol 6. Here is the most potent tip in this whole booklet! Ice bathe! Just do it! Ice bath- ing will amplify the entire protocol in a major way. For maximum benefits, end the night with an ice bath by throwing a few bags of ice into your bathtub and start the morning with an ice bath, continuing with the resveratrol, turmeric, and chili powder and nothing else. Just drink tons of water, fast on water most of the day so the body can really clean itself out. The ice bath will reduce the swelling, cool the system, and help you sleep better! You will thank me in the morning for emphasizing this part of the protocol.
7. Take magnesium to prevent a headache or drink some electrolyte drinks to restore electrolytes. 8. Taking the supplement taurine will reduce irritability and noise sensitivity the next day. 9. Be sure to drink early and finish early to enable you to have a deeper sleep. You may even want to take some melatonin to deepen your sleep as your cor- tisol levels will be quite high as your body will be busy cleaning house. High cortisol levels and glutamine disturb deep sleep. Note: If you think that drinking helps you sleep, you are dead wrong. Alcohol can help you fall asleep, but the high levels of glutamine produced as a side effect of drinking will never allow you to get into the deep stages of sleep. Lack of proper sleep is a huge contributor to hangover symptoms. Warning to People with Gut Issues: If you have gut issues, know that you will suffer hangovers greater than someone with good gut health. Alcohol will fur- ther damage the already irritated gut lining. It is better to refrain from alcohol until you repair your gut health.

If you do not have all the recommended supplements on hand, eat a bunch of eggs and drink orange juice the day of the party. You will be full of cysteine and vitamin C. If you can just add in some easy-to-find supplements, just take vitamin C and B complex and some activated charcoal. You can get these at any pharmacy. Fast on water the next morning so your body will go into high level detoxification. This is an old school cure your grandparents may have known about, but it is a simple method you may find easier to jump into. To prevent irritability the next day, eat marine sourced foods such as seafood or seaweed. 11. The healthier and stronger you are when you show up for the party, the bet- ter you will be able to detox alcohol. Get a regular amount of sunshine and keep a healthy tan.
