• Centre Information Our Oxford summer camp is in Oxford Brookes University in Headington. The classes take place at the beautiful Marston Road site. Oxford Brookes University, Marston site features large classrooms that have all been recently refurbished to an extremely high standard and are all fully equipped with digital projectors so modern online teaching materials can be used. A large canteen provides meals for students and there is a great amount of outdoor space for UKCE students to enjoy social programme activities. Single en-suite residential accommodation is provided at a brand new accommodation block, Parade Green, a 20 minute shuttle bus trip from the Marsten site. Oxford is home to the oldest university in the English-speaking world. A beautiful city full of stunning architecture it is Welcome to Oxford Brookes the perfect environment to learn and enjoy a summer camp experience in. University 2021 • 20 hours tuition All courses will include 20 hours tuition per week as standard • Maximum class size of 15 students • Course dates – 27/06/2021 – 07/08/21 • Age Range – 12 – 17
Centre Highlights: • Located in Headington, Oxford • Excellent facilities including a lecture hall for inductions and movie nights at the university and brand new fully furnished ensuite accommodation in a contemporary style. • 24/7 security. • CCTV. • Laundry service. • Wi-fi access – students and group leaders are provided with an individual password to access the campus wifi. • CELTA (or equivalent) qualified teachers • Full day trips to London or Stratford-on-Avon. • Half day and evening activities and excursions • Weekly bus pass provided Location & Transport: • Classes: Oxford Brookes Headington Campus, Marson Site, Oxford, OX3 0FL • Accommodation: Parade Green, James Wolfe Road, Oxford, OX4 2 WP • Trains run from Oxford to London every 15 mins. It takes about one hour to the centre of London. • Local buses run frequently from both accommodation and university site to the centre of Oxford.
Centre Accommodation Details ITEM NOTES Capacity 200 beds Accommodation All rooms are single and and en-suite and form part of 6-8 room flats Bedrooms fully furnished with a bed, desk, chair and wardrobe. Catering Full Board – a continental breakfast is provided at the accom- modation, hot lunches and dinners served at the canteen in the University. Packed lunches provided on excursion days. Academics: • Maximum 15 students per class • 20 hours of lessons each full week (Mon-Fri) • Placement test on Day 1 • Modern equipped classrooms • Levels: A1 to C2 • All teachers have a degree and teaching qualification (CELTA or equivalent) • Syllabus: students learn General English and lessons include a focus on British life and culture with students preparing a presentation on what they have learned about Oxford and the UK which they give on their final day in class. • Certificate and Learning Report given to every student on final day in class. Accreditation UKCE is accredited by the British Council for the teaching of English in The UK and are members of English UK.
