   • Today, we will praise our God, looking together to His grace for godly living.

PRAISE OUR GOD & SAVIOR

Isaiah 40:25-28 [Pastor Joel]

       To whom then will you compare me,
          that I should be like him? says the Holy One.
       26
          Lift up your eyes on high and see:
          who created these?
       He who brings out their host by number,
          calling them all by name;
       by the greatness of his might
          and because he is strong in power,
          not one is missing.
       27
          Why do you say, O Jacob,
          and speak, O Israel,
       “My way is hidden from the Lord,
          and my right is disregarded by my God”?
       28
          Have you not known? Have you not heard?
       The Lord is the everlasting God,
          the Creator of the ends of the earth.
       He does not faint or grow weary;
          his understanding is unsearchable.

Congregational Song: Immortal Invisible

       Immortal, invisible, God only wise,
       in light inaccessible hid from our eyes,
       most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of Days,
       almighty, victorious, thy great name we praise.

       Unresting, unhasting, and silent as light,
       nor wanting, nor wasting, thou rulest in might;
       thy justice like mountains high soaring above
       thy clouds, which are fountains of goodness and love.

                                                                                         1
To all life thou givest, to both great and small;
      in all life thou livest, the true life of all;
      we blossom and flourish as leaves on the tree,
      and wither and perish but naught changeth thee.

      Great Father of glory, pure Father of light,
      thine angels adore thee, all veiling their sight;
      all praise we would render, O help us to see
      'tis only the splendor of light hideth thee.

Colossians 1:15-20

      Congregation:
      15
         He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.

      Leader:
      16
         For by[f] him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and
      invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were
      created through him and for him.

      Congregation:
      17
         And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

      Leader:
      18
         And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn
      from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent.

      Congregation:
      19
         For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell,

      Leader:
      20
         and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in
      heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.

Congregational Song: Rejoice the Lord is King

      Rejoice, the Lord is King!
      Your Lord and King adore;
      Rejoice, give thanks, and sing,
      And triumph evermore;
      Lift up your heart, lift up your voice;
      Rejoice, again I say, rejoice!

      Jesus, the Savior, reigns,
      The God of truth and love;

                                                                                          2
When He had purged our stains
        He took His seat above;
        Lift up your heart, lift up your voice;
        Rejoice, again I say, rejoice!

        Rejoice in glorious hope!
        Jesus the Judge shall come,
        And take His servants up
        To their eternal home;
        We soon shall hear th’ archangel’s voice;
        The trump of God shall sound, rejoice!

GODLINESS DISPLAYED

Titus 2:1-14 [Pastor Steve]

   But as for you, teach what accords with sound[a] doctrine.

   2
    Older men are to be sober-minded, dignified, self-controlled, sound in faith, in love,
   and in steadfastness. 3 Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not
   slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good,

   4
    and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, 5 to be self-
   controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that
   the word of God may not be reviled. 6 Likewise, urge the younger men to be self-
   controlled.

   7
    Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your
   teaching show integrity, dignity, 8 and sound speech that cannot be condemned, so
   that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say about us.

   9
    Bondservants[b] are to be submissive to their own masters in everything; they are to
   be well-pleasing, not argumentative, 10 not pilfering, but showing all good faith, so
   that in everything they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior.

    For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, 12 training us
   11

   to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright,
   and godly lives in the present age, 13 waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of
   the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, 14 who gave himself for us
   to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own
   possession who are zealous for good works.

GODLINESS & GOD’S GRACE

Congregational Song: Grace Alone

                                                                                             3
Every promise we can make
      Every prayer and step of faith
      Every difference we can make
      Is only by His grace.

      Every mountain we will climb
      Every ray of hope we shine
      Every blessing left behind
      Is only by His grace

      Grace alone Which God supplies
      Strength unknown He will provide
      Christ in us, our cornerstone
      We will go forth in grace alone.

      Every soul we long to reach
      Every heart we hope to teach
      Everywhere we share His peace
      Is only by His grace.

      Every loving word we say
      Every tear we wipe away
      Every sorrow turned to praise
      Is only by His grace.

      Grace alone Which God supplies
      Strength unknown He will provide
      Christ in us, our cornerstone
      We will go forth in grace alone.

Congregational Song: Jesus Keep Me Near the Cross

      Jesus, keep me near the cross,
      There a precious fountain—
      Free to all, a healing stream—
      Flows from Calv’ry’s mountain.

      In the cross, in the cross,
      Be my glory ever;
      Till my raptured soul shall find
      Rest beyond the river.

      Near the cross, a trembling soul,
      Love and Mercy found me;

                                                    4
There the bright and morning star
       Sheds its beams around me.

       In the cross, in the cross,
       Be my glory ever;
       Till my raptured soul shall find
       Rest beyond the river.

       Near the cross! O Lamb of God,
       Bring its scenes before me;
       Help me walk from day to day,
       With its shadows o’er me.

       In the cross, in the cross,
       Be my glory ever;
       Till my raptured soul shall find
       Rest beyond the river.

Congregational Song: Take My Life and Let it Be Consecrated

       Take my life and let it be
       Consecrated, Lord, to Thee.

                                                                                             5
Take my moments and my days,
      Let them flow in endless praise.
      Let them flow in endless praise.

      Take my hands and let them move
      At the impulse of Thy love.
      Take my feet and let them be
      Swift and beautiful for Thee.
      Swift and beautiful for Thee.

      Take my love, my Lord, I pour
      At Thy feet its treasure store.
      Take myself and I will be
      Ever, only, all for Thee.
      Ever, only, all for Thee.
