YORWW Congregation ©1994-2011 Donald C. Burney Let’s Make This Simple To Understand … As Simple As Apple Pie!!! In the beginning, toward the end of God’s sixth creative day, Jehovah made mankind both male and female in His image according to Genesis 1:27. And in verse 31 of the same chapter, Jehovah, Himself after seeing everything He had made said, “…LOOK! [IT WAS] VERY GOOD.” -- New World Translation Adam & Eve’s Offspring So to make this simple, let’s say that Jehovah made an apple pie called, “MANKIND.” God then cuts out two pieces of pie, one called Adam and one called Eve. I think we all know how this story goes in the Garden of Eden…the serpent [Satan] tempts Eve, Eve succumbs to the twisted words of the serpent [Satan] and eats the forbidden fruit. Then later, Adam does NOT stand up to Eve for breaking God’s Law, at the time, and repeats the sin. Next, when God accosts them, Adam blames 1
YORWW Congregation ©1994-2011 Donald C. Burney Eve and Eve likewise blames the “serpent” for deceiving her. This shows neither one is repentant, since they were not willing to confess their sin and take responsibility for their actions. But what about the deceptive actions of the “serpent?” If we really think about it, this newfound "rebel" Satan [using the serpent], had actually challenged Jehovah Himself and His creative works. Satan challenged the fact of whether the “PIE” called Mankind that Jehovah God had created, was indeed, “very good.” Is this not true? -- Genesis 1:31. Because of this action on Satan’s part, because of this special challenge against God’s proclamation of Genesis 1:31, Jehovah God the Almighty, wisely utters the first prophetic statement or promise of Holy Scripture. God utters the first bible prophecy! He predicts: "And I shall put enmity between you and the woman and between your seed and her seed. He will bruise you in the head and you will bruise him in the heel." (Genesis 3:15 New World Translation) Now above, Jehovah prescribes a Special Solution to answer Satan’s proposed challenge! And, what would this special “solution” … this sacred secret of God’s be? Well, let’s look at this situation from Jehovah God perspective, His point of view. Because of Adam & Eve’s sin, Satan proposes a new idea among God’s Creation, the idea that “nothing good” can come forth from the same pie [MANKIND]. The same “pie” that Jehovah had declared: “Very Good!” So, Satan proposes the very opposite of what Jehovah said in Genesis 1:31, after Jehovah has made that pie [MANKIND], isn’t it? God’s works were complete, and they were “very good,” according Jehovah. Jehovah said His works were “VERY GOOD” (according to Genesis 1:31). Adam & Eve’s Offspring 2
YORWW Congregation ©1994-2011 Donald C. Burney But Satan suggests that Jehovah’s Works [MANKIND] are FLAWED and that nothing “GOOD” could come forth from that PIE [MANKIND]. Now, what would Jehovah's "options" be at this time point, we must ask: 1) Should He [Jehovah] destroy Satan ... and Adam & Eve before they could have children, and start all over again? That possibility did exist, didn't it? I mean, who could stop Jehovah's Almighty's Hand, if He decided to go this way...who? But we must think: If Jehovah did this, what would this prove? Would this "destructive" action on God's part, prove the ORIGINAL "pie" was indeed, "very good," as Gen. 1:31 proclaims? What would this action, do for this particular claim, of Gen. 1:31? Would that particular action on God’s part, actually help that particular claim of Jehovah's at Gen. 1:31, namely that His Works were indeed “very good?” 3
YORWW Congregation ©1994-2011 Donald C. Burney 2) Or should God Almighty, Jehovah reach up to heaven, and choose a new, heavenly life form or entity, one that DID NOT actually come from the original "pie," like say for instance, Jesus? Well, if Jesus came to earth to live as a "man," and thusly proved himself to be "very good" [Gen. 1:31] ... sin-free ... still, would that fact prove the ORIGINAL "PIE" ... that's the original "pie," was also "very good" [Gen. 1:31], as Jehovah ORIGINALLY DECLARED??? Again we repeat, if Jesus were proven faithful, under test from Satan as the scriptures say he was, exactly as Adam and Eve were originally created before their sin, still would this fact prove the ORIGINAL "PIE" was indeed, "very good" as Gen. 1:31 proclaims??? Would it??? Wow, what a very strange Actually, Jesus coming to earth and proving idea, hmmm. himself to be "faithful," completely sin-free, a sinless man, does NOTHING ... NOTHING to show the original "pie" of mankind was indeed created ... "very good," [Gen. 1:31] ... does it??? Think about it. 4
YORWW Congregation ©1994-2011 Donald C. Burney We must remember, an irrefutable fact we all know is that Jesus is not … NOT FROM this EARTH, nor is Jesus imperfect, a sinner descendant from Adam. So Jesus could NEVER be considered a “slice of pie” cut from MANKIND, could he??? Therefore, being from the “seed of Eve” as a SOLUTION [Gen. 3:15), would NOT BE POSSIBLE for Jesus -- Did you know this??? 3) Or, should God Almighty, do something completely unique ... he uses a part of the original pie, a "slice" from the "pie" of MANKIND, apply the blood of Jesus [act of "Justification" Romans 5:18] UPON that "slice" of pie from mankind, rendering him to a "guiltless" state [Matthew 12:7] and let this one, answer the challenge of Satan, as in the "Scapebird" or "Scapegoat" scenarios, shown in Leviticus Chapters 14 & 16. How about that possibility??? So What Does All of This Mean??? 5

YORWW Congregation ©1994-2011 Donald C. Burney BIBLICAL PROOF OF A SECOND "MESSIAH" FROM GOD, PROMISED TO COME! In addition to the information we have presented previously, by way of the "Simple As Apple Pie" Illustration, we've found what we believe to be a very captivating, comparison of verses of scripture, which we believe will absolutely prove...a SECOND MESSIAH was promised to come upon this earth, in the last days. First, please carefully consider Zechariah 8:23... “…We Have Heard That “Thus says the LORD of hosts: In those days ten men from the nations of every tongue shall take hold of the robe of a Jew, saying, 'Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.’” (Zechariah 8:23 ESV) Actually, we can see the possibility of a "messiah" appearing God Is With You” here, in this verse. Yes, the "Jew" mentioned is certainly carrying out a Messiah-like role, is that not so? Here we see someone, a "Jew," leading the people of the nations to Almighty God successfully [see verses 20-22]. Next, let's compare John 16:13... “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.” (John 16:13 ESV) We notice above, this verse speaks of the "spirit of truth" which was promised to lead persons into "all truth" and "declare the things coming" or the future to Jesus' disciples. Isn't that what Jesus said? And certainly, Jesus was NOT referring to himself doing this, was he? Yes, the "Spirit of Truth," was promised to be "sent" by Jehovah and Jesus, to earth, to lead people to "all truth" and "declare the things coming" [declare the future], as we would expect of a "messiah," is this not true? -- Please compare John 14:16, 17, 26; John 15:26; John 16:8- 11. Therefore, would not such a unique scenario like this, perfectly fit the one spoken of at Zechariah 8:23? Yes, we can see the messianic role or profile shown at John 16:13, the "spirit of truth" then is identical with that of Zechariah 8:23, is this not so? Actually when we think about this, what is the difference in the role of both scenes shown...is there a difference??? 7
YORWW Congregation ©1994-2011 Donald C. Burney And again, all professed Christians know John 16:13 speaks of the activity of the "Spirit of Truth," which they know unequivocally CANNOT, no cannot ... be Jesus. Yes, they know this. Think about it! Therefore, the words of Jesus where he promised the coming of "Elijah" to "restore all things" now, carry greater meaning. Yes, remember he said this at Matthew 17:10, 11. And this verse also matches the promise of Isaiah 49:5,6.. yes, the "Servant" prophecy. Then too, we have the words found at Acts 3:20, 21 which says Jesus himself is "IN HEAVEN" actually when this great spiritual "restoration" work is going on. Additionally, verse 24 of Acts 3rd chapter, clearly says, "all the prophets" foretold this day. Think about it! “And the ravens brought him bread yorww [Donald C. Burney] and meat in the morning, and bread and meat in the evening, and he drank from the brook.” (1 Kings 17:6 ESV) PS: For more detail information on this topic, please see the articles entitled: Three Simple Statements of Belief & Identifying The Modern Day "Messiah" & "Chieftain" Article Written By: Donald C.
