Story Adam and Eve lived in the perfect world. One day, a sly snake tricked Eve. The snake was Satan in disguise. He convinced Eve to eat the fruit God said never to eat. Adam and Eve disobeyed God. Then they knew they were naked. They tried to hide from God. God was unhappy with them, but God still loved them. He called out to them. God made clothes for them to wear. God promised to send a Saviour. Adam and Eve had to leave the garden of Eden. Pray for them. Child’s name, I pray you will obey God and that your family will too. © 2021 truewaykids.com
Fruit stamping and rolling God create people in His own image. In this activity, your child will create a life-size paper image of themselves. Skills learned: Fine motor Creative Listen skills Materials needed: Fruit, Paper, plate, paint, and a paintbrush Preparation: Lay out paper newspaper. Cut fruit to have ready for stamping. Steps: For Babies and Toddlers: Explain to your child that this fruit is not for eating but for making art. Supervise your child in dipping the fruit into the paint. Point out that different fruit makes different shapes. Allow them to mix colors and make patterns on the paper. Toddlers: For toddlers, you can give simple directions to follow. For example, stamp three red apples. Draw a tree onto blank paper and have them stamp inside of the tree. Encourage them to create a picture using only fruit to stamp. © 2021 truewaykids.com
Clothesline Relay Adam and Eve tried to make clothes to cover their nakedness. God also graciously created a covering from them. We can share how Jesus makes a cover for the wrong we do. This playful activity gives your child the chance to practice life and helpful skills. Skills learned: Fine motor gross motor visual skills skills spatial skills Materials needed: Clothesline, Clothing items, Basket. Pegs Preparation: Hang the clothesline securely at child’s height. WARNING: Make sure you supervise your child during the activity and remove when finished. Steps: For Babies and Toddlers: Show your child how to hang clothes onto the line. For toddlers, you can allow them to peg the clothes onto the line. Toddlers: Ask your child to pick an item out of the basket. For example, a blue sock. Count how many items they can fit onto the line. Can they fit more smaller items than larger items? (socks vs t-shirts). Create a relay placing the basket a short space away. Have them carry one item at a time back to the clothesline and hang it up, repeating this until all items are on the line. © 2021 truewaykids.com
Seed transfer We don’t know what fruit Adam and Eve ate from the tree, but we can show how all fruit is seed- bearing. Skills learned: Number Sensory Fine motor skills development skills Materials needed: Sunflower, pumpkin seeds or other large seeds. Some bowls Preparation: Fill bowls with seeds. WARNING: Check for allergies and choking hazards. Steps: For Babies and Toddlers: Babies can explore seeds that are sealed in a plastic zip bag. Toddlers can explore the texture of seeds by grasping. Touching seeds will be a new sensation for them. Toddlers: In this activity, we aim to strengthen a child’s fine motor skills. We will need two plastic bowls, one of which will be filled with medium-sized seeds such as sunflower seeds or pumpkin seeds. The child will then transfer the seeds from one bowl to another using his or her hands. You can make the activity more challenging by introducing a spoon. Stones snakes Satan appeared to Adam and Eve in the form of a snake. In this outdoor activity children will find and collect stone to make snakes. Skills learned: Fine motor Number Shapes skills skills Materials needed: Stones Preparation: Find a safe location with plenty of stone or collect stones for indoor use. Steps: For Babies and Toddlers: Collect stone of different sizes and lay them out on the floor to make a snake shape. As your child to help you make more stone snakes. Toddlers: Count how many stones make up each snake. Ask questions like “Which snake is longest?” and “Which snake is smallest?” Try to make a snake in the form of a letter. Leaf Clothing Adam and Eve tried to make clothing from leaves. Use the template on the next page to create some leaf clothing for them to wear. Skills learned: Fine motor Creative Imagination skills Materials needed: Leaves, PVA glue. Preparation: Print the template page or draw some simple figures for Adam and Eve. Optional (collect leaves in advance). Steps: For Babies and Toddlers: Take the child for a short walk to collect fallen leaves. Talk about the different shapes and colours of the leaves. Add some PVA glue to Adam and Eve’s body and allow your child to create clothing for them using the leaves they have collected. © 2021 truewaykids.com
Fruit Art 1. Draw a tree on clear sheet of contact paper with a marker. 2. Tape it, sticky side up, to a table or along a wall. 3. Cut out the fruits on next page. 4. Invite the children to stick them to the tree. You can also have them make different patterns or sort in colours. *Tell them how God made people to think and choose. *Adam and Eve chose not to obey by eating the fruit God said not eat. *God had a plan to send Jesus to make everything right. Who’s Hiding? Use last week’s sensory bin and add a toy snake or image of snake from below for this week. Invite toddlers to touch and talk about the items in the box.
