Hertfordshire 2020 - Year of Culture Ambition: to showcase Hertfordshire as a county of creative and cultural opportunity There are five broad objectives supporting this: Celebrate, share and explore Hertfordshire’s arts, culture and heritage Enable access and participation in arts, culture and heritage for new audiences Increase wellbeing and a sense of belonging through arts, culture and heritage Showcasing pathways to education, employability and enterprise in the creative and cultural industries in Hertfordshire Create new partnerships and new work through skill sharing and new ways of working together
What will you see in 2020 A collaborative, high profile promotional campaign to showcase existing and new cultural opportunity. 12 Themed months to help focus activity, each co-ordinated by a lead agency Key events taking place throughout the year A chance to do something extra, to put on a new activity or experience and attract new audiences Bringing people together, developing new partnerships and sharing skills

Three Rivers District Council’s Potential Activities & Events Projects don’t necessarily need to be new projects, it could just be branding existing projects under the banner of Hertfordshire Year of Culture
Theatre Workshops Free Creative Space What is it? Open-air Film Screening at the Aquadrome What is it? • Two days of films Saturday 15th & Sunday 16th August 2020 • At the Aquadrome in Rickmansworth • Film titles will include films aimed at families and adults • Tickets will likely be around £10 each How can you get involved? • Potential sponsorship of the screen equipment • Volunteers to help steward the event • Event food suppliers e.g. burger van, pizza van etc. • Attend and encourage others to attend

Heritage & Photography Walks What will happen? • Continuing with our photography walks, resulting in a public exhibition? • Ongoing heritage & leisure based activities/sessions in the HIVE • Working on large scale events for 2020, showcasing the park’s offer. • Working in partnership with others who are connected to LCP • Tying into our funded Activity Plan.
