Warrior Weekly May 10-14, 2021 DEAR WARRIOR PARENTS/GUARDIANS, Happy Mother's Day! I hope that everyone is enjoying their Mother's Day Weekend! As we reflect on our areas of reinforcement and refinement, parents please don't forget to give feedback as this is most importantly for our students. Sometimes the students are the last stakeholder group we ask when improving programs and services. Interesting that those that we serve everyday are sometimes the last to be asked for feedback. Please provide honest feedback from your self or allow your scholars to provide feedback. Remember feedback is a gift. It's what we do with feedback that matters. Remember to make sure your scholars are Reading! As always, be safe and appreciate your time with family and one another. "United We Rise, United We Soar" "Together We Can, Whatever It Takes, No Excuses" Sincerely, Principal Williams QUOTE
Just because you failed doesn't mean you're a failure. A loss doesn't make you a loser and while you may have quit, you're not a quitter. One moment doesn't define you or your life. Keep learning, get better, and grow stronger through adversity and become all you're meant to be! Jon Gordon ASIAN AMERICAN & THANK YOU! We also are offering a self-paced enrichment program for those students who want to accelerate their learning. For students who need grade recovery, we are offering an in-person experience at select school sites that will focus heavily on literacy and math. For students who want to enrich, we are offering an online experience accessible through the Spring ISD website and Schoology. If your student is participating in person, the main summer school session will run from Monday, June 14 through Friday, July 2. Students in pre-K and Kindergarten will run through Thursday, July 8. The 21st Century after-school program and Special Education Extended School Year (ESY) program will be provided until July 22. The online self-paced enrichment program will be available all summer long with a set of courses being offered in June and a second set in July. Visit www.springisd.org/summerschool for more information and to register. THE WINDOW TO SUBMIT A TRANSFER APPLICATION IS NOW OPEN! If your student is seeking to attend a school in 2021-22 for which they are not zoned, the window to submit a transfer application will open on Monday, May 10 at
www.springisd.org/transfers. Just a reminder, students attending the district’s schools of choice (Roberson Middle School, Spring Leadership Academy, Carl Wunsche Sr. High School, P-TECH at Dekaney High School, and Spring Early College Academy) are NOT considered transfer students since these schools do not have attendance boundaries. Students accepted into these programs receive transportation. The district offers different transfer types depending on the situation. Regardless of transfer type, transportation will NOT be provided to students. More information on each of the transfer types is available at www.springisd.org/transfers. Should you have any questions about the online transfer application, please reach out to your student’s current principal. Applications for transfers will be accepted through Friday, June 4 and will be processed as submitted. Parents should receive a notification if the transfer request is approved, denied or waitlisted within 10 school days from when submitted. Notification will be sent via email or phone call. Please make sure we have an updated email address and phone number for you in the Home Access Center. LEARNING OUTSIDE-A DIFFERENT LEARNING ENVIRONMENT! CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR SCHOLARS!
