Croyland Primary School Shout Out! Issue: November 2018 As the term goes on, with so many messages to give, my section gets squashed out. Please ensure you add the dates below to your calendar. There is so much going on and it is easy to forget. I love Festive jumper day - and I have added in slippers. All contributions from this day will be given to a local charity. At this busy time of year, and following Christmas, if you change you mobile phone number, or know that you have changed the additional contacts on your child’s record, please come in or call and let us know. It is awful to watch, when a child is really poorly and we can’t get in touch with anybody when all they need is to be cuddled up in bed. A final note, I have just received a message that 6 children are off with Chicken Pox. If you find some spots, you can return to school only after five days of noticing the first rash. Happy advent. Miss Deakin! Lost Property Please can you ensure that your child’s belongings have their name written on them. We have monitors that check the lost property boxes everyday and return named ‘lost’ items back to their owners. We have 2 lost property boxes, one in KS1 and the other located outside of Miss Deakin’s office. Please feel free to pop in and check the boxes if your child has lost something. Has your child got a Special Educational Need and/or a Disability (SEND) ? If they have, do you know about the Local Offer? The Local Offer provides on-line information about resources in the area that are available for children with SEND. It provides information, links to services, guidance and useful website links. As part of the SEN Code of Practice every school has to publish this link on their school’s website. You will find this link on our About Us page under SEN and Inclusion both in the SEND Information Report and the Inclusion Policy or alternatively you can visit: https://www3.northamptonshire.gov.uk/councilservices/children-families-education/ SEND/local-offer. Please let me know what you think of the website and also if you find the information about SEND on our own school website useful or not. Alternatively, if there is anything you think we should add please let me know. Karen Jeffs (SENCO) Remembering 100 Years Miss Deakin’s second project of the year was to make a poppy in different ways. Our poppy display in school has been filled with pictures, collage, crochet and real life stories from relatives who fought in the war. Your efforts with this homework project have been fantastic and the display is being enjoyed by the whole school. Thank you to every one of you who made something to contribute to this display. If you haven’t yet been and had a look at this display, make sure you do as it really is beautiful. Miss Cragg
Autumn/Halloween Disco—19th October 2018 On Friday 19th October 2018, Croyland’s PTA organised a Halloween Disco for Foundation Stage and Key Stage One, and then a later one for Key Stage Two. Both proved to be a huge success with all of the children! The children enjoyed their party games, their food and drink, and wearing their amazing costumes. The funds raised, after the deduction of the items purchased for the night, came to over £900. A fabulous achievement by all. The PTA are very keen on continuing these events as they were so popular and attended by a majority of the pupils. We are currently planning our next event. I look forward to liaising with them for the next. Mrs Wright Teacher for the PTA Hot Chocolate and Cookies for sale in the Hall after school on Thursday 6th December. Come along for a tasty treat!
