Mosman Church of England Preparatory School Year 6 - Canberra Tour 2021 This year, Year 6 will be visiting Canberra not only to play Rugby and Football but to participate in a number of educational excursions. Please refer to the accompanying itinerary for the exact planned details. In brief we will depart school at 7.00 am on Monday 2 August and return to school at approximately 7.30pm on Tuesday 3 August. In the evening the boys will be accommodated at “Canberra Park”. Dinner, breakfast, linen, pillow and doona will be provided. The cost of this trip is $215.00. This cost covers coach use, excursions (see itinerary) and accommodation. An additional amount, not in excess of $10 may be brought to have a snack at “McDonalds” Sutton Forest on the return journey and for spending money. A packed lunch and morning tea needs to be taken on the Monday. Clothing The boys are to travel to and from Canberra in their school uniform. Below is a clothing list and all boys should make certain that ALL items of clothing are clearly marked. Small electronic gadgets including ipads and / or travel games are permissible but parents and boys are reminded that it is the responsibility of the boys to look after them. Ipads will be collected by the teachers and stored overnight. Items to be Packed or Worn 1. School uniform for two days – not varsity cap or sun hat 2. School Tracksuit for after the games. 3. Football / rugby gear (shorts, jersey, boots, socks, garters, mouth guard, shin pads) 4. Appropriate underwear 5. Towel 6. Toiletries 7. Pyjamas 8. Large plastic bag for wet / dirty football clothes 9. Lunch and morning tea for Monday * Sports accessories should be packed in a small travel bag (with morning tea and lunch) for ease of access upon arrival.

Are there any particular foods your son can’t eat? Other information that would be helpful for staff to know: I give permission for my son, to attend the Canberra Excursion. I acknowledge and understand that there are risks associated with this excursion. The specific activities in which my son will be participating include: football or rugby games, visits to “old” and “New” Parliament House and “Questacon”. Overnight my son will be accommodated at “Canberra Park”. I am not aware of anything that would prevent my son participating in these activities and I have informed my son that he must observe the rules of the excursion and cooperate with all those in positions of responsibility for him. In the event of an emergency, I give permission for the school staff to authorize any medical treatment, should staff not be able to contact me. Parents should be aware that their son is insured for personal injury under the School’s Accident Insurance Policy for any injury which may occur to a pupil of the School at any time worldwide. This insurance provides benefits and compensation according to the available schedule of injuries and amounts, after claims through Medicare and private health insurance have been settled. Enquiries and claims on this insurance can be made by contacting the Business Manager’s office. Payment of $215.00 will be made to the school as a part of my son’s Term Three, 2021 School Fees.
