Lake Placid Horse Show Family,
2020 was a historic year as both the world and the Lake Placid Horse Shows took a pause. For the first time in fifty years, a global
pandemic forced the cancellation of our beloved two weeks of show jumping in the Adirondacks. But rest assured, this year we
are coming back stronger than ever. We are all looking forward to getting back in the saddle for “the best two weeks of a horseman’s
summer”
Lake Placid is a special place to show, compete, and vacation. The quality and level of competition combined with our scenic lo-
cation set our shows apart from the rest of the crowded summer riding circuit. For many obvious reasons, Lake Placid has emerged
as a popular destination for show jumping and enjoys a fervent following among passionate equestrians.
Outside of world-class show jumping, Lake Placid offers a myriad of recreational activities, including hiking, water skiing, hockey,
rock climbing, canoeing, golf, and fly-fishing. The Olympic Village offers fine hotels, outstanding restaurants, luxurious spas, fun
entertainment, and great nightlife. Welcome to our wonderful Adirondack horse show vacation!
During our year off we did not rest. Management has been working tirelessly to identify and implement several improvements to
our shows. Over the last five years, we have upgraded the footing, added new riding rings, and improved the overall facility. These
upgrades represent well over seven figures of investment. As I write, we are moving forward with a six-figure project to upgrade
the entire electrical system on the show grounds. Over the last year, management has recruited additional leadership to the Executive
Committee and the Board of Directors. We welcome our talented and dedicated new board members and are grateful for the years
of service and hard work of our retiring board members.
Finally, management has listened carefully to the thoughtful suggestions generated from our exhibitor advisory board. Because of
their efforts, several new initiatives are underway. At the top of the list was a quantitative and qualitative review of our show
schedule. After much collaboration with the committee, we have made extensive scheduling and logistics adjustments in an attempt
to end our days at a reasonable hour. Several other meaningful improvements are happening for the upcoming show season that
we expect will not go unnoticed. As usual, we welcome all feedback on ways to improve.
Given the post-Covid environment, we anticipate strong exhibitor demand for 2021. Entries are limited as we place safety and a
positive experience above profits. Please get your entries in early as they are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
We express gratitude to our generous supporters who make our shows possible year after year—our sponsors, vendors, riders,
trainers, grooms, staff, families, volunteers, the Olympic Village, and the Town of North Elba. All of our stakeholders share a love
of these two sacred summertime weeks of show jumping. We are grateful for everyone’s steadfast support.
It is both an honor and a privilege to serve as the Chairman of this venerable and successful event. We hope to see you in ringside
at Lake Placid in 2021.

Nomination Fee: $225
ELIGIBILITY: To be eligible for the Jumper Division horses must be nominated and the nominating fee of $225 paid by the closing date of entries. Horses nom-
inated after that date must pay a nominating fee of $250. Once a horse is nominated, he becomes eligible to compete in the following sections:
Jumper 1.40m, 1.35m, 1.30m, 1.25m, 1.20m, Amateur-Owner Jumper, Adult Amateur Jumper, Junior Jumper, Children’s Jumper and all special
classes held in the Jumper Division, if otherwise eligible.
RECORDING: The Federation maintains records of winnings in classes at licensed competitions. Jumpers must be recorded with the Federation in order to
receive points towards any USEF or USHJA Zone or Horse of the Year awards. Any change of a recorded horses’s name and/or ownership must
be recorded with Federation.
TIES: Horses tied for other than first place will be placed based on their time in the first round, unless otherwise stated.
COURSES: All courses may consist of any combination of the following: brush, gates, oxers, planks and rails, water, liverpool, ditch, wall, and panels.
DECLARATIONS: Horses must be declared for their class no later than 4:00 p.m. the day before the class is to be held, except where otherwise stated.
START ORDER: Starting orders will be produced and run in accordance with USEF Rule JP 112.
OTHER: Schooling, Tack & Equipment, Conduct & Attire - According to the LPHSA General Regulations and USEF Rules except where otherwise noted.

Eligibility. Age restricted classes are open only to horses recorded with the Federation and age verified in accordance with Federation Policies and
Procedures. Age can be verified only through the following identification documents: a. registration papers, Certificate of Pedigree or passport issued
by a breed or sport horse registry approved by the Federation. b. Horse Identification Document issued by a breed or sport horse registry approved
by the Federation that states the registered name of the horse, the registration number of the horse and age of the horse.
Five-, 6- and 7-year-old horses must qualify through designated USHJA Young Jumper Championship Qualifying Classes between January 1 and
August 15, 2021. Horses must have competed in one Qualifying Class in order to be eligible, in addition to being enrolled in the program.
The Qualifying Class will be held concurrently with the last class of the week for the 5-, 6- and/or 7-Year-Old Young Jumper divisions. Every horse
entered in the class will receive results for the USHJA Young Jumper Championship.
