JRTCA Breeder's Classes Class 34: Stud Dog and Get Must have at least two, but no more than three offspring at parent's side. Stud Dog must be intact. Offspring may be intact or spayed/neutered. Class 35: Brood Bitch and Produce Must have at least two, but no more than three offspring at parent's side. Brood Bitch must be intact. Offspring may be intact or spayed/neutered. Class 36: Working Family Open to working stud dogs and working brood bitches with at least two, but no more than three adult working offspring at side. All terriers must have earned and received one or more JRTCA Natural Hunting Certificates. Class 37: BEST FAMILY & RESERVE Open to 1st and 2nd place winners of Stud Dog and Get and Brood Bitch and Produce classes. No entry fee. JRTCA Suitability - Judge's Choice Open to any adult JRT, including those which have been spayed/neutered. The dog the Judge would choose to take hunting to each quarry listed below. GO-TO-GROUND A timed event that simulates the terrier's natural instinct to hunt. The terrier enters an artificial den/tunnel to demonstrate its working ability. Schooling prior to the competition is not permitted. Any violation of this rule shall result in disqualification from the Go-To-Ground competition at this trial. For all classes: work is defined as baying, digging, concentrated stare, whining or biting at the bars. A break in work is defined as ceasing to work for a period of more than ten seconds. Leaving the quarry is defined as moving back in the tunnel away from quarry and out of the view of the judge. The judge may halt the work, if the judge believes the terrier is injuring itself. Copies of your JRTCA trial certificate must be submitted with pre-entries or presented to the den steward at the time of judging. CROSS- ENTERING IS NOT PERMITTED BETWEEN CERTIFICATE CLASSES. Class 112: Earthdog Go-to-Ground Champion & Reserve 1st and 2nd place winners of Earthdog Open class. Non-sanctioned. No entry fee. SUPER EARTH A challenging GTG course with a series of false entrances and/or false tunnels and dens. Open to any Jack Russell terrier, 6 months and older. 30 seconds per 30 feet of tunnel to reach quarry; may leave and re-enter earth several times until the quarry is reached and then must work quarry for one full minute without a break in work and without leaving quarry. May switch from one type of work to another without penalty. Classes may be combined as entries warrant. Sanctioned classes; check rules posted. A copy of a 100% scoresheet must be presented with pre-entry or be shown to the den steward at the time of the class. Class 121: Adult Certificate Super Earth, 10" up to 12½" Open to Jack Russell terriers, one year and older, which hold a JRTCA Super Earth Trial Certificate. A copy of the certificate must be submitted with pre- entry or be shown to the Den Steward at the time of the class. First- and second- place winners will be Adult Super Earth Champion and Reserve. Class 122: Adult Certificate Super Earth, over 12½" up to 15" Open to Jack Russell terriers, one year and older, which hold a JRTCA Super Earth Trial Certificate. A copy of the certificate must be submitted with pre- entry or be shown to the Den Steward at the time of the class. First- and second- place winners will be Adult Super Earth Champion and Reserve. 12
Class 123: Veteran Certificate Super Earth, 10" up to 12½" Open to Jack Russell terriers, six years and older, which hold a JRTCA Super Earth Trial Certificate. A copy of the certificate must be submitted with pre-entry or be shown to the Den Steward at the time of the class. Terrier must work to find the quarry in the shortest amount of time. The clock starts when the judge is ready and signals you to release your dog at the gate. All four paws must be on the ground before you release your dog. The judge stops the clock when your dog has found the tube. You do not enter with the dog but you can encourage your dog verbally. GO-TO-GROUND A timed event that simulates the terrier's natural instinct to hunt. The terrier enters an artificial den/tunnel to demonstrate its working ability. Schooling prior to the competition is not permitted. Any violation of this rule shall result in disqualification from the Go-To-Ground competition at this trial. For all classes: work is defined as baying, digging, concentrated stare, whining or biting at the bars. A break in work is defined as ceasing to work for a period of more than ten seconds. Leaving the quarry is defined as moving back in the tunnel away from quarry and out of the view of the judge. The judge may halt the work, if the judge believes the terrier is injuring itself. Copies of your JRTCA trial certificate must be submitted with pre-entries or presented to the den steward at the time of judging. CROSS- ENTERING IS NOT PERMITTED BETWEEN CERTIFICATE CLASSES. First and second place winners of the certificate classes will be Go-to-Ground Champion and Reserve. Class 284: Pre-Novice Puppy Open to Jack Russell puppies 4 up to 6 months. Entry in Pre-Novice Puppy class does not affect the puppy's eligibility to enter the Novice Class after 6 months of age. SUPER EARTH A challenging GTG course with a series of false entrances and/or false tunnels and dens. Open to any Jack Russell Terrier, 6 months and older. 30 seconds per 30 feet of tunnel to reach quarry; may leave and re-enter earth several times until the quarry is reached then must work quarry for one full minute without a break in work and without leaving quarry. May switch from one type of work to another without penalty. Classes may be combined as entries warrant. Sanctioned classes; check rules posted.
