Welcome to “Simply the Best” Horse Show featuring “Simply the Best” Morgan
horses! We realize life is full of choices, and we appreciate you deciding to either
exhibit or spectate at the Grand National & World Championship Morgan Horse
Show.
Please take note of changes in the scheduling and other events throughout the
week, particularly those pointed out below.
We look forward to October, a visit with you and remember, if we can ever do
anything to help you, please let us know!

IMPORTANT NOTES FOR 2018
• QUALIFYING CHANGES - First through Fourth now qualifies at AMHA Star Shows, First through Sixth qualifies at USEF All-Morgan
Shows or USEF Shows with a Morgan Division and First through Eighth qualifes at AMHA Regional Shows. Please see the Qualifying
Section in the prize list for complete qualifying rules.
• ADDED CLASSES - Sport Horse Under Saddle, Ranch Riding Green Horse, Ranch Pleasure Rail, The Walk-Trot Western Pleasure and
Western Seat Equitation Championships have now been split into age groups: 9 & Under and 10 & 11.
• The Evening start time has been changed to 7:00 p.m.
• The AMHA Medal Finals classes for Hunter Seat, Saddle Seat and Western Seat will be held in the Coliseum.
• The popular Costume Class will be held on Thursday this year. This will be divided into mounted and not mounted entries.
• Please be aware that it is the pet owner’s responsibility to make sure that all dog waste is picked up and disposed of. Dog owners
failing to comply with this rule will be subject to a $50 per occurence fine.
• BANNERS! You can now purchase a banner to honor your trainer, your farm, breeders, etc. Download a form from the GN website.
• AMHA/UPHA OPEN GATE LEARNING CENTER - AMHA has again partnered with UPHA to offer the Open Gate Learning Center at
this year’s Morgan Grand National. The Open Gate Learning Center is an on-site study and learning center for young equestrians who
are competing at the show.
• CHECK-IN PROCEDURE: Upon arrival, all horse transport vehicles must check in at the main security checkpoint located on Chisholm
Trail adjacent to the outdoor covered arena. Coggins and health certificate must be shown for each horse (health papers must also
be shown at the horse show office before numbers are released.) All exhibitors must also check in at the horse show office prior to
unloading to receive the stall assignments.
• SPONSORSHIPS: If you commit to a Grand National sponsorship by August 15th, you will be entered in a drawing to win $500 of Silver
Possiblity Tickets.
• PLEASE READ THE FIRE REGULATIONS in the Rules & Regulations section of the prize list.
• Entries must be postmarked August 14, 2018 OR received by August 21. If sending to be received by the 21st, be sure to send by a
method which has a tracking feature such as FedEx, UPS, etc. in order that the “received by” date may be verified. NOTE: USPS (postal
service) does not guarantee next day delivery.
• Read the Prize List carefully. Important changes occur every year to classes and schedules especially. Exhibitors are responsible for
knowing the rules concerning the sections of this prize list which pertain to their entries. These NOTES do not reflect all changes in the
2018 USEF rules or the 2018 Grand National & World Championship Morgan Horse Show Prize List.

2018 Youth Activities
Youth of the Year Contest
Open to senior youth who qualified at a local or regional youth contest. Contest consists of an oral
presentation, horsemanship pattern, judging contest, and written exam. Awards for 1st–6th place in each
division. Overall Champion and Reserve Champion based on highest combined scores.
Junior Invitational
Open to youth under the age of 13 with no qualifying necessary. Juniors may register by contacting
Katie Hodges. Juniors may compete in the oral presentation and/or judging contest. Awards for 1st–6th
place in each division. Overall Champion and Reserve Champion based on highest combined scores.
