RAS Members $26.00 per fleece A condition of entering into Competitions is strict (incl Show Levy) adherence to the Regulations. JUDGING 18. A competitor may not discuss with the Judge their alpacas, or proposed exhibits, prior to or during the show judging. The Judges’ decision shall be final. They may choose not to award a prize or prizes in a class. LATE ENTRIES 19. All entries must be received by the Convenor by 4pm on the closing date. No late entries will be received after these dates. Postal delays will not be accepted as an excuse for late entries.

Each such animal shall at all times be at the sole risk and responsibility of the Exhibitor, and Person or Persons removing the animal shall at all times be deemed to be the agents of the Exhibitor and all acts and omissions on the part of such Person or Persons shall be deemed to be the acts and omissions of the Exhibitor who shall indemnify and hold indemnified the RAS its servants and agents from all Claims whatsoever in respect of the animal whether by reason of any loss or injury to or caused by the animal or because of transportation, feeding or housing or otherwise howsoever.
COVID-19 As we are all aware, things can change at a moments notice. The following is provided for you as a guide as to where we stand at time of publication. All exhibitors will receive an update in the days prior to the show, reminding them of requirements and advising of any changes or updates. Social Distancing guidelines must be followed at all time. The RAS continues to work with NSW Health. Based on current guidelines and conditions the following applies: 1) Upon entries closing, we will be in contact with you to find out the details of who will be attending. The passes which you will be issued will also act as your QR code and are not transferable. 2) Huts / Lofts - only 2 people may share a loft in the lower section with the top section being out of bounds. Those 2 people must be from the same household. 3) Facemasks must be worn at all times in the Marshalling area and the Show Ring. The exhibitor is responsible for supplying enough facemasks for the entire show and masks must be changed or washed regularly. This includes those managing animals who may not be going into the ring. If in this area at anytime, even when judging is not taking place, face masks must be worn. 4) QR codes will also be displayed in the pavilion and everyone is required to scan in every day. Alpacas must be of Sydney Royal Show quality, The Alpaca Schools Competition is for teams of 6 students – 3 Senior and 3 Junior to represent their schools at the Sydney Royal Agricultural Show in Alpaca Junior & Senior Handling. Alpaca Handling is the only component for this Competition at Sydney Royal Agricultural Show” CONDITIONS a) Each school may enter 1 team of 6 students. 3 Juniors (Years 7-9) and 3 Seniors (Years 10-12) who have not competed in a Paraders Event. b) Schools may bring their own alpacas or alpacas will be available to borrow on the day. c) The 6 students will be judged individually in Alpaca Handling then all 6 scores combined to give a total score for their school. d) Competitors must not have competed in the Paraders Events. This competition is for students new to Alpaca competitions. e) There will be a different course for Junior and Senior students, which will consist of a few basic obstacles that will demonstrate the handler’s ability to control the alpaca. They may be required to let the alpaca go in an enclosed area and catch it again. The judge may also ask the students some very basic questions about alpacas and their fleece. f) Ribbons to 5 places will be awarded to each placed team member with the winning school receiving a trophy. g) Judging will be as per the Australian Alpaca Association rules for Junior Handling. h) Competitors must wear long black pants, white coats with enclosed black or brown firm shoes or boots (no sneakers).
