Hurricane Sally ripped through here and left a lot of damage for all of us. I hope you all made it through okay and with minor damages. The club- house fared well, but the hoist area not so well. Please stay away from the hoist area until we fix the problem. Youth Sailing is in full swing so please keep an eye out in both parking lots for chil- dren and teenagers. The Mobile Bay High School Fall Series consists of five Sunday races. Each local high school has two teams com- peting for a “bragging rights” traveling trophy to take back to their high school until the next series. This week the teams who attended were Fairhope High School, St Michael Catholic High School and UMS -Wright. We hope to see a few more high school teams join soon! Awarded each year to the outstanding Junior Yacht Club mem- ber, the Marty Cup hon- ors the Junior who has contributed to the club in leadership, sportsman- ship and involvement in activities during the year. The Boat Cohen Award honors the first-year jun- ior who has shown the most improvement in skills and participation as a beginner. Candidates for these honors can be submit- ted to the Junior Advisors or to the FYC Office. You may include any pertinent reasons for your nomi- nee. The honorees will be announced in December at the Commodore’s Ball.

More hurricane damage ATTENTION SLIP RENEWALS BOAT SLIP RENTALS: All slip rentals are due for renewal by October 31, 2020. This includes the new Kayak rack as well the new placements due to the Harbor restructure. Please contact the FYC office if you don’t remem- ber how to renew your slip. There are a number of members who are wait- ing for slips to come available and will happi- ly move into unrenewed slips.
