Clinics. Durelle and his staff combine
skill instruction and game situations along with daily doses
on the importance of leadership, sportsmanship and hard
work. Durelle’s passion for teaching/coaching basketball,
combined with his ability to connect with children of all ages
and skill levels, creates a fun and high-energy experience
for all Sports Jams participants.

that enhances baseball knowledge
and skills. Ideal for players who want
to develop their throwing, fielding,
hitting and baserunning skills through

from coaches. Coach Sanjay Rambhia,
Varsity head coach at Conard High School, and members
from his team and staff, return for their second year.
Coach Rambhia has been coaching baseball since 1992 at
various levels in Rocky Hill, Farmington and West Hartford.
He has coached middle school baseball, junior varsity
baseball, and varsity baseball.

Sport-A-Palooza Jam is a fun-filled week packed
with a variety of sports including basketball,
baseball, flag football, lacrosse, soccer and
more. The program is designed to teach, inspire,
challenge, motivate, and promote teamwork
and sportsmanship in children of all skill levels.
Sport-A-Palooza is led by Thai Tran, Sports Jams
Director and the Sports Director at the Mandell
JCC, who is in his 13th summer with Sports Jams
camps. Thai has a special knack for bringing out the best in all
children, both on and off the playing field. In partnership with his
experienced, passionate and high energy counselors, this camp is
an exciting week for children of all ages.

for the past 8 years. Sensei Dave and his
staff train campers in karate moves, jumps,
kicks, and weapons (nunchucks), and will
introduce self-defense and stranger safety.

Learn the basic skills to play great golf, or take your current
skills to the next level. Geared for the beginner-intermediate
golfer, this camp is led by the Golf Pros at Tumble Brook
Country Club. Basics such as grip, posture and alignment
will be taught. Campers will progress to putting, chipping,
pitch shots, full swings, etiquette and rules. Campers
supply their own golf clubs and bags. Full-day campers are
transported to The Swim & Tennis Club for the afternoon.

football player, Andrew Pinnock. Andrew is
back for his 10th season leading the Football
Jam program. A former 6-year NFL player
with the San Diego Chargers and Denver Broncos, he has
coached youths ages 8-18. Andrew and the staff create a
positive and fun environment where young athletes build their
confidence and skills. Mornings and early afternoons are filled
with offensive and defensive football skill development and
drills. At the end of each day, players will be placed on teams
to participate in a Flag Football League.

has been teaching dance for 10+ years
as the Director of the Mandell JCC Dance
School. Miss Kim and Miss Pam, as they
are referred to by their students, are known
for their abilities to work with all skill levels
and styles of dance. Campers train in a
variety of dance styles including Jazz, Acro/
Gymnastics, Ballet, Modern, Hip-Hop, and Theatrical Dance.
The week will culminate with a showcase performance for
family and friends.

FOOD EXPLORERS CAMP

Before Care: Begins 7:30am - $10 per morning
After Care: Ends 5:30pm - $12 per afternoon
Become a Food Explorer this summer! You’ll learn how to make nutritious
and delicious food with a Registered Dietitian. Each day you’ll learn
about a different food group by tasting, touching, and exploring your
way through new foods using taste tests, games, and activities.
You’ll make your own snack and lunch each day (included in price),
and take home the recipes! All recipes will be nut free but some may
contain dairy and eggs.
In the afternoon, campers will enjoy daily swim and outdoor play.
Space is limited and early registration is encouraged.

SCIENCE CAMP

Kids are inquisitive by nature. Let them explore and engage in
this brand new program run by scientist and educator, Naomi
Scheinerman. Our young scientists will explore a different
scientific field each day during this week full of awe-inspiring
demonstrations, independent explorations, team based activities,
and take home projects. In the afternoon, campers will enjoy daily
swim and outdoor play and engage in teambuilding activities,
which will help our scientists work together to solve tomorrow’s
scientific mysteries!

Our budding artists, under the guidance of our artist-in-residence Elena
Gibson, get hands-on experiences and explorations that teach new skills
in the world of pottery and mixed media art. The campers’ imaginations
and creativity result in an array of completed projects. Daily group time is
devoted to learning about many important artists and their unique styles.
In the afternoon, campers will enjoy daily swim and outdoor play.
