TACKLE BOX SEPTEMBER 2017 FROM OUR CHAIRMAN Hi All, As Michael Corleone once said “just when I thought I was out... they pull ya back in.”(Godfather III) I'm back for another year and thanks to all for the over whelming support, words of encouragement and all round bullying that made me take this job on again. Thanks also to all those that attended the 2017 AGM and especially those that have put their hands up to help run and grow the club. The new 2018 club executive’s are- Chairman - Greg Skinner Club Captain - Noel Day Secretary- Greg Evans Treasure- Nikki Rose Weigh Master - Ralph bowler Recorder - Jon Eagle QGFA Reps - Brad Clayton and Mick King Sunfish delegate - Jeff Ahchay Tackle box editor and ANSA rep - Mark Rose Thanks to the sponsors who've re-signed and to a few new ones. The Tackle box, website and our tournament shirts will see some new exciting names on the list along with a few very loyal supporters. Many great fish caught this fishing year already but a couple worth mentioning.. Congrats to Josh for tagging the first billy for the season, good luck to all heading out this month chasing stick faces. Let tag a heap, maybe even bring one home to weigh. Well done Simone King for the trophy bass she managed to wrangle out of summer set dam. Keep that up too! Few camping trips on the horizon so keep an eye out, we'll be sending details as they come to hand. If anyone has any suggestions on speakers for club meetings, club activities or anything that will make everyone's fishing club experience more enjoyable please let one or all of the committee know. See you all on the 11th for the club meeting and the following weekend at weigh in, some very expensive fish up for grabs this month! Keep a bend in it.. Greg. 3

TACKLE BOX SEPTEMBER 2017 Weigh Master’s Report 23.08.17 Another great “Club Barbeque” afternoon, for our August weigh-in, with clear and sunny weather although the wind put a damper on fishing. It was fantastic to see a good turnout of members but sadly no fish to weigh in. Diego was clearly not happy with his Dad Carlos who made him throw back a 28cm Bream because it would have been too small to weigh in. It would have been the only Bream weighed in and would have paid $100. Make sure you get out and have a go this month Diego. The whiting should be showing up around the Peninsula and there is always a chance of a Snapper off the rocks. Ask Mark Rose for some ideas. The Snapper will be worth $350. September’s species are Snapper and Whiting. Get out there and enjoy the warmer weather, I hope you bring in heaps of fish for the weigh in. Cheers. Ralph Bowler 7
