ABOUT US SEMCO commenced operations in 1982, as Electrical & Mechanical consulting engineers. It has grown from a one man operation to now having a staff compliment of 6 partners and 13 Technical advisors and trainee engineers. Over the 35 years SEMCO has developed significant skill and experience on the African continent. Our continental experience has a strong Southern and East African focus including training programs and projects in Namibia Mozambique, Angola, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya. Our Technical Partners have had extensive international experience in Europe , South America and Asia At SEMCO we recognise that our people are our most valuable asset. Prof. Edward Chikuni Chairperson & Technical Director of BEng. (USL), MSc, (UMIST, Manchester), PhD (Wales), CEng, SEMCO PrEng (RSA), PrEng. (ECZ), FZweIE, CMVP Prof Chikuni is an internationally recognized Academic and Energy & Power Systems Expert and a member of the UN (UNECA) Group of Energy Experts. He is registered as a Professional Engineer in Zimbabwe, South Africa and the United Kingdom. Over a period exceeding 30 years he has accumulated vast experience in the public and private sectors including the design, management of construction , operation and maintenance of assets in the Railways, Electrical Utility and Textile Sectors. His formative years were with such companies as ABB and British Railways. He has advised the Utilities and Mining Sectors of South, East and West Africa. He has often been called to comment and express expert opinion on energy and engineering issues within the SADC region. As an academic he has published over 50 peer review papers and two books used internationally. He has a passion for modeling and analysing power and energy systems and evaluating the impact of renewable energy in large interconnected systems.
Mr Farayi Chikuni SEMCO Bcom (Rhodes),Post Dip Tax(Rhodes), HBcompt (UNISA) Farayi is a career Finance man with just over 8 years experience gathered from working in financial audit, corporate finance and management. Farayi completed his articles with Moore Stephens Inc in Cape Town where he supervised and managed a number of financial audits for listed and large businesses. Farayi gained vast experience in carbon credits, renewable energy finance, green tax and tariff analysis on assignment at Eskom. He His audit portfolio included large mining, Construction, Property, Energy and Technology companies. At SEMCO he is involved in project costing, energy audit, utility network valuation financial analysis and economic review. He is currently studying to be a certified energy auditor. Farayi is very active within domestic cricket in Zimbabwe and a member of the Rainbow Cricket Club sponsored by SEMCO.

The policy gives guidance to checklists that some of the following review of work procedures, adherence to client specifications, and adherence to ISO standards, client inspection, testing procedures and post implementation review. If required by the client all consulting work is subject to bench marking and independent peer review by other international experts.
