South Slip News July 2020 2020 a Year of Firsts ~ Kelly Hendry 2020 has certainly been a year of “firsts”, some really great and some not so great. Here are a couple of notables from my personal experiences this year: In-Home Biohazard Collection: Never have I ever pushed a swab 2.5 inches up into my own nostril and scraped it around 3 times on each side to capture a do-it-yourself biohazard lab sample. Followed by depositing the hermetically sealed package into a drive-up FedEx box. Did this yesterday, and it was definitely a “first”. Switched my loyalty to orange & green from orange & blue: Never have I ever let out a cheer for a cer- tain in-state rival of my collegiate alma mater (the Florida Gators). However when I saw the “Orange and Green” atop the research vessel F G Walton Smith high and dry on the Pride this week, I raised my hands and voice in an enthusiastic, “It’s all about the U!!!!!” We (the family owners) are proud and honored to have this opportunity to work with The University of Miami / RSMAS. And yeah...Go ‘Canes! Blessed with the best Team ever: Never have I ever been this inspired to say a humble and heart-felt THANK YOU to our amazing HMI teams. It’s been an uphill climb this year with many risks and chal- lenges. Throughout it all our production teams kept our companies on an even keel, churning out quality work on time and on pace with client expectations; while our legal, finance and HR teams evaluated, strategized and rolled out resources and programs to take care of our workforce. T h a n k y o u H M I t e a m for your perseverance, patience, professionalism and commitment. When 2020 is in our rear-view mirror I doubt we’ll look back and laugh ... however it is my sincere belief that each of us will be able to look back and find a few ways that this shared experience made us stronger. Student Tour ~ Bea Vizcaya GMR welcomed students from Tampa Bay Technical High School giving them an up close experience into our business. Thank you Bea Vizcaya for hosting and the GMR Team for your participation. E O E / M / F / Ve t / D i s a b i l i t y / D r u g F r e e Wo r k p l a c e
