June 2021 BIA PLANTS TREES WITH ROTARY In May, Brunswick Industries was invited to attend a tree planting ceremony celebrating 100 years of Rotary. Rotary have provided 100 Oak trees to be planted around parks in the area, helping one of their areas of focus, the environment. We were invited by Brunswick Tullamarine Rotary Club President – Mr Peter Boudville, and were ably represented by Bridget, Michael & Taylor who went along with Charles as CEO. It was a sunny Autumn day and so all were very happy to be out and about in a beautiful Brunswick park. Peter gave a great speech outlining some of the good work Rotary does, including supporting BIA (who he said were their longest standing partners providing great jobs and a great work culture for our employees), the L2P Program, Salvos, and the High Street Belles choir amongst others. It was a good chance for Taylor to catch up with the High Street Belles as she is a member of that choir, Michael took the opportunity to talk all things gardening with the Parks Department staff, and Bridget had most conversation with the hot chocolate serving lady!
We had a chance to chat with our local Federal MP - Peter Khalil, and Brunswick MP - Tim Read (who have both visited BIA in the last year) and the Mayor of Moreland - Annalivia Hannan. A topic was obviously trying to get them to help us with finding a site for our relocation! Thank you to the team for representing BIA extremely well. ERC Meeting A reminder the next time your ERC members will be meeting to discuss all issues and suggestions for BIA will be Monday the 26th of July. If you have anything you would like brought up or any sugggestions please speak with either Craig, Mark, Justin or Bridget
Employee of the Month Award April May Annie Cooper Patricia Sanderson For the month of April, Annie Cooper showed great initiative in putting her hand up to try a new job. This has been great for Annie as it gives her more variety in her work while also very handy for supervisors to have an extra option for capping the bottles. Annie was able to be trained up to build her skills for this job and is now pumping out the volume in production! Patricia Sanderson was awarded the employee of the month award for May for helping to get the job done in building 1 with great output + assisting supervisor in building 2 with ensuring others had components, answering questions and training others on the job. Great team effort!
BIA’S day at the footy!!! Thanks to one of our loyal customers, Supreme Sanitiser, BIA have been given 7 free Carlton AFL memberships by John Haddad to use for any Carlton home game in Melbourne. The first home game to take advantage of these tickets was Carlton vs Hawthorn. All tickets for the first game were taken up and everyone that went met up at Flinders Street Station. Both Carlton and Hawthorn supporters at BIA went to the match and had a great time at the football…. Carlton supporters were left the happier of the bunch however with Carlton winning the game. All the supported employees that went enjoyed their day with their fellow colleagues at the footy. Nickie was the most excited however having never been to the football before and experiencing the atmosphere and buzz of the football for the first time. Thank you again to Supreme Sanitiser (John Haddad) for supplying BIA with these memberships.
