General information
VENUE

The venue of the European Boys’ Team Championship 2014 is Oslo Golf club, situated in the
suburban area of the Norwegian capital, Oslo.
The club was founded in 1924, and is the oldest golf club in Norway.
The layout is a parkland course bordering the Bogstad Lake, and the course was rebuilt in
2009 with the design of Steve Forrest and Arthur Hill.
Oslo golf club has hosted several European championships and most recently hosted the
European Girls’ Team Championship in 2007.
The length of the course from the men’s back tee is 6340 meters, par 72.
The Course rating is 74,3 and the slope is 126.

CHAMPIONSHIP PROGRAMME

Saturday July 5th           Arrival.
Sunday July 6th             First official practice day. Registration.
Monday July 7th             Second practice day. Registration, no later than 12.00.
                            Captains’ meeting at 17.00.
                            Team photographs 17.45 – 19.00. approx.
                            Opening Ceremony of the Championship at 19.00
                            Cocktail party after the Opening Ceremony.
Tuesday July 8th            First round, stroke play.
Wednesday July 9th          Second round, stroke play.
Thursday July 10th          Match play.
Friday July 11th            Match play.
Saturday July 12th          Match play – Finals.
                            The Closing Ceremony will take place 30 minutes after the end
                            of play.
                            The Closing Ceremony will be followed by a farewell dinner.
Sunday July 13th            Departure.

TRANSPORTATION
Transport will be provided for all officials and team members from Oslo Airport (OSL) to the
official hotel, subject to notifying the Norwegian Golf Federation by May 18th with flight
details. These teams will be met at the OSL airport.
The recommended airport is Oslo airport (OSL) approximately 40 km from the official hotel.
If you choose to fly to another airport, your own travel arrangements will have to be made.

Form 1 - Travel Details should be completed and returned by email NO later than May 18th.

A mini-bus shuttle service will be provided between the official hotel and Oslo Golf club from
the first practice day.

ACCOMMODATION
The official hotel is Thon hotel, Ullevaal stadion, with a location at the national arena for
soccer. There will be a shuttle service between the hotel and the golf course, travel time is
approx. 10 minutes. Any country wishing to make alternative arrangements can do so,
however transport to and from the course and airport is at their own expenses.

TEAM FEE
In accordance with the standard procedure, there is a charge of €1500 per team, to cover
transportation, practice balls and trolleys.
Teams are asked to pay this by bank transfer, no later than Friday June 27 th.

TOURNAMENT INFORMATION

Communications
The use of mobile radio transmitters (walkie-talkies) by the Team Players, Team Captain or
Team Advisor is prohibited during the Championship.

Caddies
As per item 1.6 a. in the EGA Conditions of Competition for European Boys’ Team
Championship, only fellow team players are allowed to act as caddies.

Catering at the golf club
The clubhouse restaurant offers a variety of warm and cold meals and a variety of
beverages. Team Managers wishing to set up a catering account must settle direct with Oslo
Golf club catering staff to activate this service. Catering accounts must paid by cash or credit
card in advance. Team managers must sign off his account prior to departure.
Players and officials, eligible to charge to an account, will be issued with an identification
card. Team managers intending to set-up a catering account must collect identification
charge cards from the Information Office.

Dress code
Dress regulations are smart/casual throughout the week i.e. jeans, denim trousers, shorts,
sleeveless or collarless shirts, track suits and training shoes are prohibited. Tailored shorts
are allowed. Golf shoes are not permitted in the lounge and dining room.

Drug abuse
In order to avoid any misunderstanding in connection with required medication, please
check the list of drugs issued by the International Golf Federation (IGF).

Please find enclosed the following forms which must be returned by the dates mentioned:

FORM 4: Entry/eligibility conditions form by June 27th

Fruit and water
Complimentary fruit will be available on the course on tournament days. Due to
environmental concern we encourage the players to drink and refill water from tap.
Norwegian tap water is pure, and considered to be equal or better than bottled water.

Golf bags
Storage room for golf bags can be made available. Please contact the Tournament Office
upon arrival.

Locker rooms
There is a locker room available in the club house. Each participating team will have access
to two lockers for storage of personal belongings.

Liability
Players, officials and guests are reminded that Oslo Golf Club, the Norwegian Golf
Federation, The European Golf Association and the official hotels cannot be held responsible
for loss of equipment or personal possessions.

Medical care
Medical personnel will be present during the Championship.

Photos
The official photo session will take place on Monday 7th July before the opening ceremony.
Team captains will be informed of the exact time.

Pigeon holes
Pigeon holes for the captains’ information will be located in the Tournament Office.

Practice
The official practice days are Sunday July 6th and Monday July 7th.
Starting lists will be available upon arrival.

Practice facilities
There is a driving range to accommodate players according to a schedule where balls will be
provided, in addition there is a short game area on the course and two practice putting
greens.

Press office
A wireless network and a copy machine will be available for members of the press at the golf
club. All requests regarding press will be handled by the Norwegian Golf Federation on site.

Pro shop
The pro shop is located in the club house next to the starter’s house and is well stocked with
equipment and clothes.

Registration
Registration for the tournament will take place at the counter in the golf club administration,
no later than Monday 7th July, 12.00.

Social events
Monday 7th            Opening Ceremony and cocktail party at Oslo Golf club.
Saturday 12th         Closing Ceremony and farewell dinner.

Trolleys
Trolleys will be available for team members. There is no need for prebooking.
Please note: Electric golf trolleys are not permitted – see Conditions of Competition for
European Boys’ Team Championship item 1.6b.
Please note: Buggies will not be available for the captains.

Yardage books
Yardage books will be made for the tournament and is included in the team fee.
