Stuart’s notes Good afternoon everybody and welcome to the Goldstar Ground for todays Thurlow Nunn League Division One North match versus the visitors from King’s Lynn Town F.C. Reserves. We hope the Officials, Players, Management and Supporters enjoy their day out at the seaside. We offer thanks to GMA Warehousing & Transport for sponsoring this afternoons match. The team will be looking to bounce back from Wednesdays home defeat to Debenham LC, the visitors running out 3-0 winners on the night. Our new manager, Simon Tricker explains elsewhere in the programme his aims for the season and as we know from last year, this league is not easy so another tough test is in store today. Any keen Golfers out there? We are looking for a few more teams to compete in the annual Seasiders golf day, this year being held on Thursday 12th September at Felixstowe Ferry Gold Club. Further details and how to register can be found on page 16. Just time to mention the newly revamped Red & White Club, (Former 200 club) £300 of cash prizes monthly and new special monthly prizes on offer. Contact me to sign up! Stuart Daynes - Ed 3
View from the dugout Good afternoon and welcome to the Goldstar Ground. My visions for the reserves this year are for the squad to fulfil their potential. There is no doubt that the club has a good group of young players who can go on to play first team football. I am looking forward to working with these players, and not forgetting the smaller group of more senior players we have in the squad who will play important roles this season at Felixstowe. We will play to the club philosophy and with a style that will mirror the first team so if players are called upon or ready to be challenged with first team football they understand what is required from them. Pre season was positive for us, and although like always it was challenging to find a settled side we did play some good football at times and a joy to watch. Reflecting on the Sudbury game there were parts of the game we have discussed as a squad we want to improve on, but there were also positives we got out of the fixture and I am keen to continue developing these. We are looking forward to the re-match we have lined up with Sudbury in the first round of the Senior Cup. I feel very lucky to have a good team around me, Kev I clicked straight away and I knew from first meeting him the benefits of getting him involved. Likewise with Craig, who like Kevin has a lot of experience and is great with the players. Tam being family I couldn't really so no to Joking of course, Tam will be a great asset to the reserves this year with his man management skills and tactical knowledge. Enjoy the game Simon Tricker 4

Meet the Visitors – Part 1 Before the demise of King’s Lynn F.C. in November 2009, the Reserves played in the Eastern Counties League Premier Division. The Club was reformed as King’s Lynn Town F.C. for the 2010/11 Season. The Reserves have been extremely successful by winning the United Counties Reserve League Division 2 in season 2010/11 and the U.C.L. Reserves League Division 1 in season 2011/2012. Cup glory eluded them, in the same season, as they failed to win in the finals of the Reserve Supplementary Cup & the Reserve KO Cup . For the season 2012/13 they transferred to the Peterborough & District League where they were placed into Division one. They gained promotion in their first season, winning 20 out of their 28 games gaining promotion to the Premier Division, level 7 of the National League Pyramid, for the season 2013/14. They again gained promotion as league winners of the Premier League after a 17 game unbeaten run, to pip Netherton United to the title. Netherton gained a degree of revenge in beating Lynn in an 11-10 penalty shoot-out to win the Presidents shield. After a successful application they moved back to the Eastern Counties League First Division for season 2014/15, level 6 of the National League Pyramid. Having had a very successful season, they finished in 5th position. In another very successful 2015/16 season, they once again achieved a 5th place finish. In the 2016/17 season, although finishing in 10th position, the Team won the First Division K.O. Cup in a hard fought Final against Wisbech St. Mary. In the 2017/18 Season the Young Linnets achieved a Creditable 6th position in the Eastern Counties League First Division. With a new squad of young Players the Team finished in 13th position after a slow start to the 2018/19 season. The Reserve team priority as always is to try and blood youngsters into the first team, over recent seasons many of the younger players have been given an opportunity with the first team, who now play at Level 2 of the National League Pyramid. It is hoped the development process of young players will continue and grow, therefore adding to the playing squad of the Club. 10
