Public Health Order changes Effective July 1 As the Province moves into Step 3 of the BC Restart Plan, opportunities for fitness and other activities will increase as the City evaluates and adapts to the new health guidelines over the coming weeks. While the Provincial Health Officer states indoor mask wearing is “recommended” rather than mandatory beginning today (July 1) the City will maintain the current mask requirements in keeping with Council’s commitment to community safety during the pandemic. Until further notice, masks will continue to be required when entering and while inside common areas of community centres, libraries, arenas, pools, Minoru Centre for Active Living, the Cultural Centre, heritage sites, Fire-Rescue facilities, City Hall and the Richmond Olympic Oval. Don’t let this get in the way of enjoying our many classes and programs on offer. It means we will continue to provide exciting and challenging opportunities for people of all ages in a safe, comfortable environment. Customers using a community facility for physical activity (i.e. taking a fitness class or swimming) or a program/class will not be required to wear a mask during their activity; however, they must continue to wear one in common areas of a building such as the main lobby, hallways, change rooms, stairwells and elevators. In addition to the required wearing of masks, safety plans and protocols remain in place at City-operated facilities as we continue moving forward through the BC Restart Plan. For more information on the mask guidelines and exemptions, visit www.richmond.ca/masks. Summer Camps Richmond Camps… fun, social, creative and active!
