4 Mom's Gift Rehearsals for Mom's Gift are going very well. The cast and crew are still laughing at all the jokes! Pictures are coming soon, so stay tuned for December’s Newsletter. Besides Directing Mom’s Gift, Stan Jensen also has three small roles in “Yes Virginia, There is a Santa Claus”. International Talk Like a Pirate Day Ahoy mateys!! Every year, September 19th is recognized as “International Talk Like a Pirate Day”. Many libraries and schools celebrate this day with pirate-based activities. For the last two years, members of Elora Community Theatre have given their time to dress up and provide entertainment to students in Guelph and Fergus. A huge thank you to Jim Monaghan and Cory Sanders for visiting students in their pirate garb, reading them a pirate story and educating them on pirate speak. In September 2018, Captain Jim visited 5 classes at Holy Rosary school. This year, the four FDK classes at St. Joseph in Fergus met Captain Pete (we weren’t sure Cory was a strong pirate name!). Both visits provided a great interactive experience for all students and the pirates even shared their loot with the students. Thank you, Jim and Cory, for giving your time to the community and teaching these young minds what it means to be a scallywag!

For those unfamiliar with how the 50/50 draw works, we have volunteers show up about an hour before show time (7pm for the Volunteers Thus Far: 8pm shows and 1pm for the 2pm shows) and sell numbered tickets to patrons as they arrive for a predetermined fee in the lobby - 3 Friday Dec. 13th - 8pm show TBD + TBD for $5.00 and 10 for $10.00. Saturday Dec. 14th - 2pm show At intermission, the money collected from the ticket sales David Shaw + TBD are totalled then split in half. A ticket is then drawn from all the ones sold and the winner walks away with half the pot. To keep Saturday Dec. 14th - 8pm show the government happy, we record the winners name and phone TBD + TBD number for our records. Sunday Dec. 15th - 2pm show TBD + TBD There will a board member at each performance so any questions or concerns can be directed to them.
