Child Development Lab School Summer Day Camp 2021 Parent Information Letter Hello Families! Truman College Child Development Lab School would like to invite you register your child to participate in our Summer 2021 Day Camp program! This year we have an exciting summer planned for your child. Our focus this summer will be on STEAM. Our summer learning fun will be engaging children in a variety of special STEAM experiences that will inspire and awaken their creativity and sense of wonder. This summer we will emphasize Arts component of STEAM and provide campers with a weekly session creative arts sessions facilitated by our staff. In addition, we include fun sports/ fitness activities each week and a weekly swim day at Chicago Park District. . We will also have field trips most weeks as well as other fun engaging activities. The following are some important things to remember: Day Camp will be July 6th - August 13th for children 4 - 9 years old We implement COVID Safety Protocols: Small group sizes; social distancing, face mask requred, hand washing and sanitizing, daily temperture checks, COVID cleaning and sanitation practices. There is a one-time $96 per child summer activity fee that is NOT included in camp tuition. Your child is not officially registered until we receive receipt of payment for the summer activity fee. We offer part-day (8:30 - 12:30, full-day ( 8:00 - 4:00) We do accept Illinois Child Care Assistance Program certificates from IL Action for Children as subsidized tuition payments. (If you plan to use this option, do NOT pay your activity until your potential eligibility has been determined.) Private Tuition Rates: Full-day $125 per week; Part-day $75 per week. 10% discount per additional camper. If choosing this option you must provide all eligibility documentation before your child can start in the program. There is a separate application process all families must complete to determined eligibility and receive assistance. In addition to meeting family size and income guidelines you must also meet one of the following categories: - Undergraduate college/adult education/training student with min. of 6 credit hours or adult education/training full-time class schedule. - Working a minimum of 20 hours a week 5 days a week (work hours must match child care hours) - Be a IDHS TANF cash recipient who is required to work or be in training during our program - Be a teen parent 19 years of age or younger and attending GED/High School - Be a working family and have a child with a diagnosed special need If you plan to use this option do NOT pay the registration fee until potential eligibility has been determined Additional Fees: There is an $96 per child summer activity fee. This activity fee is non-refundable if canceled within 14 days of the start of day camp. This fee is used to pay for the cost of field trips. The registration fee must be paid before your child starts in the program. Fees can be paid in cash, check or money order at the cashier office in the McKeon Center. Debit and credit card payments can be made online. You will need to bring us a copy of the receipt as proof of payment or email to dsmith149@ccc.edu. YOUR REGISTRATON IS NOT COMPLETE UNTIL WE RECEIVE THE RECEIPT FOR YOUR CHILD’S ACTIVITY FEE
If you are paying online by debit or credit card please follow the information below: Electronic Payment Portal This payment portal is available to pay for various non-college tuition related items (e.g., graduation fees, child care services, print charges, test charges), for a parent to pay for child care services or a third party/grantor to pay student related charges. please click on the icon below to make an online payment via credit card (Visa, MC, and Amex) or via e-check. Please note: You will be redirected to a secure webpage customized for City Colleges of Chicago but operated by the Illinois State Treasurer’s Office. Payments will be processed within 1-2 business days. An email address is required to make a payment since an automatic receipt will be generated and sent electronically once the transaction is finalized. Child Development Lab School SUMMER DAILY SCHEDULE Teams B and C 8:00 am - 9:00 am Arrival - Health Check, Change shoes, Hand washing, & Free Choice Time 8:35 am - 9:05 am Breakfast - (staff support children and engage the campers in conversation) 9:05 am - 9:15 am Social Clean Up - transition from breakfast, toileting, hand washing (staff supervise and assist) 9:15 am – 9:25 am Morning Meeting: Campers and teachers have a community meeting to discuss the day and do social skills building activity. 9:25 am – 10:10 am Morning Activity: Campers work in small groups and independently on various activities: Art, Science, Reading, Technology, Special Projects, etc. 10:10 am - 10:25 am Social Clean Up - transition from open activities, toileting, hand washing (staff supervise and assist) 10:25 am - 11:30 am Outdoor/Neighborhood Walking Trips: Children will participate in physical activities, going on walking, trips to the park, pool, library etc. 11:30 am - 11:40 am Prepare for Lunch/Independent Reading 11:40 am -12:20 pm Lunch - (staff support children and engage the children in conversation). 12:20 pm - 12:30 pm Social Clean Up - transition from lunch, toileting, hand washing (staff supervise and assist). 12:30 pm Dismissal for All Part-day Children 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm Rest/Quiet Time – preschool children rest.
